I want to know where everyone thinks we will finish in recruiting. I think we will finish first with the recruits that we are about to lock up.

First is a stretch, but a possibility. If things can just tilt our way a *little* more, then Fulmer will find himself with one of the best three recruiting classes in the country come Saturday.

We only have 16 commits and about 10 more to go. We are sitting pretty and i think Fulmer has a trick up his sleeve. Plus we are more than likely getting the Miami safety.

Any thoughts on which (if any) of these recruits will make an impact on the team next year?

Granger is the guy that jumps out at me first. I think Crompton will be very promising, if Fulmer allows him any playing time. I say give him a quarter against Vandy or Kentucky.

I forgot about the lack of class gap between him and Ainge... RS a year then play him sporadically.

Yeah, they should redshirt him the first year, Let him play clean up the second to get used to things. Ainge only has 3 years left right? Crompton will be able to get in there soon enough.

Tennessee is going to have the #1 recruiting class this year period.
AS far as Crompton goes Heath Shuler as benn working with for awhile and I willing to bet he gives Ainge a run for his money this year.

I think if I were Crompton I would red shirt...But if he's the man for the job let it be but he needs to red shirt

Vols will finish #1 after adding the following on Saturday- Rico McCoy, Adam Myers-White, Raymond Henderson, and Patrick Turner. On Monday, we'll pick up Oher. That still leaves the door open for another RB likely Hardesty or Baker (I'm betting Hardesty), and still a good chance at Kenneth Phillips. We are already up to #2 on Scout. Our numbers also continue to increase in quality and quantity. Da BEEG Fisherman is at work!

I say if Crompton is the man for the job start him but if I were him I'd red shirt...He may come in and be the man for the job but with Ainge already having experience at the college level and Crompton not I just don't see how he would beat Ainge out.....Like I said though, I'm all for whoever is the best man for the job

Crompton wont be better then Ainge, and if he is just as good Ainge will start. Crompton has to come out and blow Eric away and I doubt that will happen.

Unless he's head and shoulders above Ainge, it would probably be best to redshirt him. We're loaded at QB next year anyway, and still in good shape even if Schaeffer decides to transfer.

It doesn't even matter if he is head and shoulders above Ainge... Crompton could turn out to be the second coming of Peyton and I would still say Ainge should get the start. You will get the most out of your QB talent that way, giving Crompton his first year off to grasp the offense, then slowly working him in. It's best for the program that Crompton redshirts in ANY event.

According to govols.com Allen is moving back to corner. Is this a sign that Phillips is coming in to play safety?
