let me start this off by saying I am new to the recruiting scene having only seriously started paying attention to it in the last year. I am no recruiting guru. I am no HV. I just got hooked on recruiting and invested in a rivals membership. the following info comes from there mixed in with a few of my own thoughts...please don't bombard me with questions...
-recent word is that marlon brown is UT's to lose. he recently took an unoffical visit to campus and was "in awe" as he meet with both the basketball and football staff's. some have even suggested that the staff is pushing for an early commitment.
-the 2 top candidates for QB of the future seem to be Tajh Boyd and Aarom Murray. both are excellent passers both would be comfortable in the spread as well as they both have excellent mobility. Boyd recently proclaimed us in his top 3 and we may lead. he also likes michigan but if they land T. Pryor I think they put us in a firm lead. Murray has an absurd amount of offers and is offering very little insight into who his leaders are...although you would have to think that being the QB of the future at a program like UT would put us somewhere in the top 10.
-we are in better shape with Logan Heastie then some would lead you to believe. he's been on campus multiple times and mentions us in a positive way in each of his articles. he referred to his most recent visit, junior day, as the "most offical unoffical visit" he has ever taken. sounds encouraging. also raves about his relationship with recievers coach, Latrell Scott.
-speaking of Scott, alot of prospects are raving about him. he may be our new ace recruiter.
-I am very upset with edwin baker's recruitment. he's a stud who claims he grew up a vol fan. yet the coaching staff never called him or sent him any letters and he up and committed to to michigan state. bizarre. we must be in good shape with some of the other top backs...
-we are not in Jamarkus mcfarlands top 3 but we are in his top 8 or so and he recently stated that playing time would play a "big time" factor in his decision, and no other team on his list is more prepared to offer him immediate playing time than UT. We will land a top DT just you wait and see...
-lots of big time O-lineman interested in playing for us. and when I say big I mean big...
-Andre harris-6'4 345
-peter white-6'4 350
-Morgan Moses-6'7 335
-Quinton washingon-6'5 320
-karman Joyer-6'5 325
you have to wonder what kind of O-lineman the new OC is looking for...but judging bu that list you would have to think he likes'em big! all of these guys have offers.
thats all I've got for now guys...I'll be back with more later...enjoy!
