Recruiting points question??

Another work discussion in need of some assistance. Does anyone know the formula they use to calculate total points in rivals for recruiting. We have 14 recruits with a 3.29 average and 1203 total on points. Alabama has a 3.76 average 21 commits and a total of 2763. Now what is the formula used for the ratio of a 2 star to a 5 star to get the total average of points?

Just using Alabama as an example, I know we are in a rebuilding process just using it to get the question across!! GBO!!

I think I've seen it explained before, I'll see if I can't dig up the info.

Someone somewhere posted the amount of points for each player depending on their rivals rating (eg 5.7 got X number of points). There were bonuses for being a top 250 or 100 player. You then get the points from your top 20 recruits in a class, I believe. I don't remember what thread this was in, but you could definitely search for it.
