From reading through all the postings on this thread, I'm struck by how many of them refer to talent from almost everywhere else but the East Tennessee area. Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Alabama, etc. are all places I saw where recruits were being cajouled to come here to play. I know that Alabama has three players on its team who are doing excellently in keeping Alabama ranked no. 1 this year.

Here are my questions:

1. Why are we not seeking talent from our own back yard instead of from everywhere else? Don't tell me the reason is we don't have the talent.

2. How come we get all our quarterbacks from mostly the west coast?

3. Why is it that most players from all the other SEC teams are from their own state, but our players are from other places? I believe one of the main reasons we are experiencing poor results is our willingness to recruit from every other state but here first before we consider local players.

4. Isn't the bottom line not only talent but true loyalty that only comes from being born here that makes for truly winning teams like is obviously present at Florida, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, etc.?

Finally, I remember when Bill Battle was recruited to coach here. Of all the games we lost during his time as our coach, 85% of them were to Auburn and Alabama. For those who don't know, Bill Battle is from Alabama.

We don't have the talent base in Tenn.

It is the truth.
