Recruiting Objectives by Position

An addition or deletion may be needed here or there, but below is a fairly accurate look at how the new staff’s recruiting objectives have unfolded by position. It’s hard to fault what they are trying to accomplish. Obviously, Green, North, Bell, and Lawson could bring some joy back to the VN.

RB – Sign Derrick Green and/or Alvin Kamara (or flip Wilkins, Ford, and/or Barber)

WR – Sign Marquez North (and/or flip Jenkins, Franklin III, or Gibson)

DB – Sign Vonn Bell (and/or Irvin-Sills, Paul, or Swafford)

OL – Flip Christian Morris (and/or add JUCO Clay or Kondolo)

DE – Flip Lawson and/or Bellamy

DT – Win over Bryant or Crayton

LB – Sign Grace (and/or ?)

TE – Add JUCO Vanderburg or Quinn

The coaching staff was talking to Alvin Kamara after the UA game. I'd add him to the list.

After watching Army game... I would rather have Kamara than Bell for sure

I did notice Kansas and Arkansas were his top two now, but wasn't sure if that meant the staff had fallen off him or just had some catching up to do. Either way, Pittman's last minute trip to Hawaii just before Jone's was hired really stinks. There ought to be a rule.

After watching the Bball game last night this post should really be about Basketball recruiting and what CCM needs to do in getting this team competitive particularly in the guard position.

So wait a minute. Are you saying Pittman flew out to see this kid on UT's dime knowing that he may end up at Arky? Sounds possible, but why would UTAD let that happen?

He is clueless, per him we aren't recruiting chauntez jackson at tight end as well.

I've gave up on this subject. I'm just gonna tip the hat when we beat out some low conference team and people on here look like we added some guy with offers from Bama etc. There is no room for excuses anymore. CBJ has two years to prove me something. After that I'm judging his logic on his offers and commitments. Ill probably massively p*** people off on here doing that if the time comes, and some will call me a negavol but I DO NOT CARE! If he wants to load up on Carson Newman players that's fine. I just want some massive improvement in the win section come two years. Time will tell.

I'm not sure we are really presuing Jackson at all. I see him taking some looks around when Vanderberg or Quinn commits here.

So.......is Derrick Green coming to TN to play or does anyone know anything more about that situation? I know the guys calling the game today said that he may go to Michigan with TN a close second but we already knew that. :question:

This is the true objective just so everyone knows.... but.... you can bet your ass that the day it happens somebody's gonna bit$h about not having any 6 star recruits.

I don't think anyone truly expects that, but we have had some questionable commits over the last few years.

Pittman was still on staff and would not have known he would wind up at Arkansas, but he had to know he might not be retained. In short, he could have and should have saved that trip till a new coach was named.

You appear to be obsessed with trying to convince people you know more than Rivals, Scout, and ESPN who all list Jackson as a DE.

He stated in the Army All Star game that he would visit Tn. and get to know the new coaching staff before making a decision. The staff needs to do a good sell job to pull him to the Vols.:good!:
