I have only been reading these forums for a couple of months, but I want to point this thread towards posters to explain to me what they dont understand about losing recruits because of a coaching change and how it can be a good thing.

I take it peoples butts are still hurt from when Kiffen left and they tried to rape our roster of players, but this situation is different. At that time we were recruiting players that other people wanted such as the Florida, LSU's, USCs but now we are getting kids whose other choices are Vandy, Ms State, etc. There is a huge difference between the top 15 in recruiting and everyone else.

If we bring in a coach that can pull top 200 recruits we would more than likely pull offers from these other kids. its not really fair but hey its life and it happens.

My question is why are you concerned about recruits when if we brought in a better coach they would pull better ones than we already have in the fold anyways?

I believe UT could bring in 2nd and 3rd level recruits with my fat butt as coach just on tradition alone. Take a look at the current roster and how mnay kids we have from in state proves this point.

I don't think anyone here is worried about recruits.

You might want to try this in the next forum over....the one called 'Recruiting'

Well i thought it may have todo with getting a new coach and why people are afraid of it because we will lose recruits. These same recruits that would have never made it on the radar in the past.

Dunno you might be right, but doesnt really matter were it goes really.

Depends on the new coach. A big name will bring big recruits initially. After a few years it falls more on results.

I think I could recruit the bunch that Dools has assembled for 2013. Most of the good ones are in-state who are coming to UTK no matter the coach

Dooley hasn't recruited well this year anyway. Hell, we're behind Vanderbilt in the rankings as of this post.

None. Alvin Kamara has acknowleged that Gruden could come to Tennessee...Gruden is already making an impact and he's not even hired yet..

Considering it was kids that were abused I don't think there will ever be a right time for jokes like that.. Not fussin' at ya just speculating a little..
