I know...I know and I don't care that the jerks don't like their own great song..it doesn't matter to me if they hate it, I suppose it isn't and never was for them.

The live version I referenced earlier was from Pinkpop 1996 on YouTube...and Thom didn't have his shirt off in that one, I got it mixed up with another live performance from way back then...anyways, it was one if the most haunting real emotional performances of anything that I've ever seen. I personally don't care for the rest of their music despite the fact that I understand how highly it is regarded....I was just going through a major malfunction in my life when Creep came out and it was as I said extremely cathartic.
I enjoy this version

Any love for the Stone Roses?

ok that was a stretch.
1. I was joking, as personal tastes are tastes that are personal.

2. I must have misinterpreted your post. If so, I humbly apologize.

before grunge it was and has been zeppelin. crowes, allman, hendrix, skynrd. pearl jam was good, still love vedder, but REM, Smiths, Depeche Mode are leagues above them.

depeche mode was one of my faves as a middle schooler. comparing things then yeah, I liked them better. Same for REM.

Since that time PJ music has aged better. the earlier conversation was about music in a 4 year span 91-94. Pearl jam matured in later albums, Vedder's solo stuff is also heat

Totally get it.

But yah, 90s alt was my groove. Still love it.

I think you mentioned Helmet earlier? Kudos.
