Subject:Tennessee Volunteers to Wear Gray Unifor, Tennessee Volunteers to Wear Gray Uniforms with Checkered Shoulders | Bleacher Report (via Team Stream App from Bleacher Report) Tennessee Volunteers to Wear Gray Uniforms with Checkered Shoulders | Bleacher Report

These "things" were on one of the Knoxville TV news shows at 6:00 this evening. They said that even though some stores were selling them that the "people" at UT that should be aware of them weren't and that as far as UT knew there were no plans for the team to wear them.

unfortunately...

1) We are in the SEC.

2) Although a different shade of orange, we have a similar color to their hated rivals, Texas. Like waving a red cape in front of a bull.

That said, GBO! :clapping:

Linebackers and safety's would run circles around our Lineman trying to get downfield.. Then you have the smart DL that aren't fooled.. Count me out on that

First off what's that got to do with injuring receivers.

Second, Every single week every team in the country runs it successfully a few times on aggressive DL. We could also. Our OL have made plenty of blocks in LBs, you're just contrary and like disagreeing because you're like that.

... Cool Story. Did you happen to notice any good things Jackson did like maybe several pancakes, several (many) times driving guys off the ball.

The facts are, there are some 'fans' who have been calling out our Oline in painful ways in such ways that others aren't just going to sit here and allow to keep happening without pointing out the positives that far far outweigh the negatives. It's unfair and disrespectful of our players who are busting their tails day-in-and-day-out. Especially our starters. I mean come on. We're 2 and 0. Is it just your human nature to be constantly negative? Does it make you feel better?

I'm late to respond to this because I haven't checked VN until now...but I couldn't resist.

What is most clear from this and your other posts last night is that you are the king of assumptions. What is possible is that you were just drunk and ticked (Is that an assumption?) I guess Butch is negative since I basically pointed out one instance that backed up BUTCH's claim that one guy who misses an assignment can cause a potential BIG play to become a mundane play. My point was not an in-depth analysis of Marcus Jackson just a one-play observation.

I'm thrilled we are 2-0 but who else do we talk about this stuff to? My wife doesn't give two craps about Marcus Jackson missing a block...most of my friends (even Vol fans) don't know who the crap Marcus Jackson is. VN is the one place you can come and actually have some conversation with people who speak the same language. So get off our freakin backs you condescending, pious "police of all fans".

Just a few thoughts on the OU game.

I think even the most optimistic UT fans know this is gonna be a game that we'll need a few turnovers and/or big plays for it to be close for 4 qtrs.

Stoops will have his team ready and the fans will be hyped for this one. I see no way they overlook us. Any SEC team that goes on the road to play an OOC team will more than likely be the game the OOC team will be looking fwd to playing the most on their home schedule. OU will be no diff, especially with everything Stoops has said recently about the SEC.

Being a 21pt dog in Norman in a primetime game on ABC, their fans striping the stadium, talk of OU wearing alternate uni's, and them wanting to make a statement vs another SEC team that is extremely young and inexperienced tells me to take OU -21 all dang day.

On the other hand, even though half of our team will be playing their first road game, I think this game will be closer than the experts think. I think Butch and staff showed as little as possible on offense the first 2 games. It was pretty obvious to me we not only showed little of the playbook, but also took the foot off the up tempo gas pedal, which if we utilize to our full potential could give OU and a lot of other teams trouble with our weapons on offense. Remember, Baylor destroyed OU last year with the up tempo. Killed them.

Not having Von and maybe Wolfe too this week hurts, but I really think that Butch and staff will have a game plan where we throw everything we have at ruining OU's big recruiting wknd, alt uni's, striped stadium, and maybe even shocking the cfb world with an outright win. The way Butch pays attention to detail as well as how he prepares his team to face the mental challenges tells me we can hang with OU or whoever else. If our last coach was still here, I wouldn't hesitate to bet the farm on OU -21!

Will it be tough? Heck yeah, but I believe in Butch and 118. We have nothing to lose! Even if we lose, I don't think they blow us out as bad as people are expecting and we earn some well deserved national respect as a team on the rise with Butch at the helm. Team 118 won't quit like bama did in Sugar Bowl last year vs a hyped OU team. 118 is on a mission to show all of cfb we will not only be as good as we were in the past, but even better. If there's one thing you can bet on, it's we're going to Norman with every dang intention of winning.

I like these thoughts...I think OU will be jacked up to play this game....no overlooking us. But I also think the culture has changed dramatically. Last year, after the USCe game it seemed the older guys were happy to get the "big win" and were flat wore out after that.

I think we scratch and claw...we may (and probably will) lose by 2-3 scores but if that happens I think it will be a late pulling away by OU.

Man I just don't want to see us get down big early...at least make it a game in the beginning of the 4th.

It's also clear that this poster is related to one of the starting linemen (fact) and that people should give a little slack, knowing that he has a personal interest and his view will always be shaded that way.

If my son was a starter and fans were negative, whether true or not, it would get me riled up too.

But I agree, we have every right to discuss on here. I have seen no personal attacks regarding the line, just areas of weakness and analysis of their performance. Everyone has an opinion and needs to live with that understanding.

I'll be at the game in Norman. Pumped. First game at a Big 12 school.

See y'all there. Later, rednecks.

I will be there as well. You headed from Memphis?

I went to Notre Dame and Cal and been to most of the SEC, so curious to see how it compares.

Had no clue he was related to one of the guys on the OL...slack given.

Yep, goes back a few years, but the older posters around here know.

Good guy. Most of us will never know what it is like for a group of people to say anything negative about our children in a public forum.

I can't imagine the conflict of wanting to be plugged in as a fan on VN but having your child as a potential subject of criticism.

Either way, I do not feel wrong about anything I said nor do I believe it was inaccurate or out of line (in regard to my thoughts on the OL). I am never confrontational on VN with the exception of a few times someone was antagonistic with me. I understand and respect his desire to defend the OL/team...however, to be condescending is a recipe for backlash...especially when the majority of VN has no clue who he is...

but again, slack given...my son is in the 95% percentile in height and the 40% percentile in weight as a 4-year old....haha...doubt I have an OLineman on my hands.

You got it. You still in Dallas? I was born in Plano.

Work in Plano, live in Garland...but Knoxville is home, and always will be. Only here cause kiddos are here.

can't wait to be with "family" Saturday in Norman. Being away from campus and everyday living of East Tennessee makes you appreciate what UT and our fans really mean and stand for and stand behind.

You ever got hit on one of those things? That's not fun at all running into that nonsense.

Do any of you all know when the full 2015 schedule will be released. I know the OOC game dates have been announced but haven't seen the full schedule.

I'm about to bid vacation days at work for next year and need to plan accordingly so I can use my tickets at least a couple of games.

I think if my son was a starter and people talked trash i would go down to food city and heckle their kids while they bagged my groceries "cold stuff goes together!! NO I DO NOT WANT MY MILK IN A BAG!!, thats too many items!!"
