Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XIII

I thought maybe Oklahoma might overlook us, considering our record over the last few years... Unfortunately, reading around the internet there is no chance of that.

I guess we should be flattered.

No chance they overlook us. We are one of the few (or only) teams that play multiple schools that look like football playoff contenders (Oklahoma, Bama, UGA). They know they need to thump us big time to up the ante for Bama and UGA when those teams play us.

SIAP, but USCe's recruiting took a hit last weekend. Top player in the state of SC and top 5 DE nationally, Shameik Blackshear went down with an ACL. Tore it up running the ball @ 6'5 and 245 lbs.

@PzFeed: BREAKING NEWS: The person played the @AP a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming the video arrived. #RayRice

He Gone.

First off, I think he was clearly in the wrong and this whole situation was handled terribly.

With that said, why would he resign? He makes $$$$$$ The owners love him because he does what they want. The players can't force him out to my knowledge. He'll come out with a statement apologizing for the way this was handled and the NFL will make a large contribution to support women who have been victims of domestic violence.

I just don't see anyway he resigns because at this point, he still hasn't technically caught with a smoking gun. He can still blame plenty of others for this.

Just a few thoughts on the OU game.

I think even the most optimistic UT fans know this is gonna be a game that we'll need a few turnovers and/or big plays for it to be close for 4 qtrs.

Stoops will have his team ready and the fans will be hyped for this one. I see no way they overlook us. Any SEC team that goes on the road to play an OOC team will more than likely be the game the OOC team will be looking fwd to playing the most on their home schedule. OU will be no diff, especially with everything Stoops has said recently about the SEC.

Being a 21pt dog in Norman in a primetime game on ABC, their fans striping the stadium, talk of OU wearing alternate uni's, and them wanting to make a statement vs another SEC team that is extremely young and inexperienced tells me to take OU -21 all dang day.

On the other hand, even though half of our team will be playing their first road game, I think this game will be closer than the experts think. I think Butch and staff showed as little as possible on offense the first 2 games. It was pretty obvious to me we not only showed little of the playbook, but also took the foot off the up tempo gas pedal, which if we utilize to our full potential could give OU and a lot of other teams trouble with our weapons on offense. Remember, Baylor destroyed OU last year with the up tempo. Killed them.

Not having Von and maybe Wolfe too this week hurts, but I really think that Butch and staff will have a game plan where we throw everything we have at ruining OU's big recruiting wknd, alt uni's, striped stadium, and maybe even shocking the cfb world with an outright win. The way Butch pays attention to detail as well as how he prepares his team to face the mental challenges tells me we can hang with OU or whoever else. If our last coach was still here, I wouldn't hesitate to bet the farm on OU -21!

Will it be tough? Heck yeah, but I believe in Butch and 118. We have nothing to lose! Even if we lose, I don't think they blow us out as bad as people are expecting and we earn some well deserved national respect as a team on the rise with Butch at the helm. Team 118 won't quit like bama did in Sugar Bowl last year vs a hyped OU team. 118 is on a mission to show all of cfb we will not only be as good as we were in the past, but even better. If there's one thing you can bet on, it's we're going to Norman with every dang intention of winning.

I will get flamed for this but I feel bad for Ray Rice and his wife. Lots of NFL players have done much more and gotten away with much less. Should he be suspended? yes. Should he have gotten the scrutiny that he has, I personally don't think so. The Titans drafted someone I the first round with a sexual assault in their background. I personally think that is somewhat worse than domestic violence

This poll about Mason is still open if anyone wants to go to it and vote to keep Mason 10-15 times. Over 24% are voting to give him more time. If he keeps going down it would be nice to keep him there.

How long will this poll be open? I went and voted a handful of times, will vote some more later. Thanks for posting.:)

The 1st two games were glorified practices. Live warm ups. It's on in Norman by God! Coming out party! Can't wait to OCI this $hit Saturday midway thru 3rd when it's over!
