The folks that govern football leagues need to be a little more proactive than they've been to redirect the sport towards something sustainable.

The good news is that we will be a great soccer nation in a generation if football gets the kibosh.
If football dies out I'm hoping rugby gets big. Much, much more entertaining than soccer and we'd probably have a better chance at becoming a rugby powerhouse than a soccer one in the next 20-30 years.

So the guy on Swain is saying Rivals is ranking TN guys that are affiliated with NPA higher than they may necessarily deserve. And at the same time NPA is pushing guys to schools not named UT.

Am I getting that correct? It does make since with the huge disparity between Rivals and 247. Also, I’ve been hearing that about NPA for years. Interesting...

He was referring to that J3M travel squad. Not sure if that are related to NPA beyond some players playing on there. I have noticed the coach of that squad post butthurt "overrated TN boys" comments a lot when their kids commit somewhere. No idea if they would be steering anyone. I can believe the ranking part though. Pretty clear difference in woody rank vs industry

Does the way he wear his chinstrap annoy anyone else. Or does that only trigger my ocd

You mean like this? Where it covers his mouth because he doesn't have it tightened right or cupping his chin properly? How's that OCD now? Lol....

Also, nice night at the ballpark. First MLB game for our youngest three (ages 5, 3, & 1). Prayers appreciated.

The body doesn't heal as fast after age 45. I started a routine of stretching exercises every other day starting at age 45 and found that it really helps. Still doing them 25 years later.

That and hiking and/or playing golf with a carry bag at least 2-3 times a week keeps me in shape.

Excellent advice!

Oh man... praying for you. I know how boring baseball is, hang in there buddy! Tell them the 7th inning stretch is the end of the game and get outta there!

KYLIE JENNER IS NOT A SELF-MADE WOMAN

Sorry, I just keep getting emails and notifications some Forbes article praising her for amassing $900M in three years. $900M is a lot, but it's not like she started from zero. Get bent, Forbes. "Self-made" is not a word that should be associated with people who were born on third base.

Had to get that off my chest.

I initially misread this as Caitlyn Jenner and thought it was the funniest post I’d read all day...

He has NPA in his bio. He coaches the 7v7 team and is an assistant middle school coach.

We just got a commitment from an NPA kid a few days ago. Kinda hard to say they’re steering kids elsewhere

Rugby would be good. Wouldn't mind also seeing Aussie Rules (footy) also

It’s a double edge sword that’s for sure. This is just my opinion but i think tackling shouldn’t start until middle school. I think it would help in two ways, young boys who are really still developing majorly wouldn’t get beat up and as many concussions (studies have shown that young kids are the most prone to concussions). And it also may combat child hood obesity if you’re playing a spread out flag game, people wouldn’t feel the need to “beef up” their 10 year old kid to play nose tackle or center.

Flame away.

Don’t necessarily want to flame. But I don’t believe people are having problems later in life from playing football as a youth or even in middle school. It starts in high school when kids get big and strong and then especially in levels above that. If that’s not the case, then I would like to see a study that shows otherwise. I don’t think you will see many (if any) people with CTE who just played football through high school.

My Dad has been involved in the local parks and recreation department for years. Football isn’t the top sport for injuries. The kids just aren’t big enough to cause them. I just don’t think that’s the problem.

Kids don't have to be that big or strong to get an injury from their heads colliding into one another, though.
