Boys I have loved football my whole life but I might have to give up following.

You guys are talking about being old and worn out. I’m 48 and already had shoulder reconstruction and now I’m having knee replacement. I went for a some kind of EEG yesterday and now going to have an MRI on my brain. Having memory loss.

Drs say it’s all of the concussions I had in my 17 years of football. I love it and love following. It’s just now thinking that most of these kids will be going through what I have been because of the game makes it hard.

I want to follow and I want to go to the games, but now I want to go tell them to just stop while you can.

It’s a double edge sword that’s for sure. This is just my opinion but i think tackling shouldn’t start until middle school. I think it would help in two ways, young boys who are really still developing majorly wouldn’t get beat up and as many concussions (studies have shown that young kids are the most prone to concussions). And it also may combat child hood obesity if you’re playing a spread out flag game, people wouldn’t feel the need to “beef up” their 10 year old kid to play nose tackle or center.

Flame away.

Sorry to hear you are having problems

Tennessee football is like US soccer. yall get excited when it's at its top level but its garbage at the developmental level.

cough npa cough.

KYLIE JENNER IS NOT A SELF-MADE WOMAN

Sorry, I just keep getting emails and notifications some Forbes article praising her for amassing $900M in three years. $900M is a lot, but it's not like she started from zero. Get bent, Forbes. "Self-made" is not a word that should be associated with people who were born on third base.

Had to get that off my chest.

So the guy on Swain is saying Rivals is ranking TN guys that are affiliated with NPA higher than they may necessarily deserve. And at the same time NPA is pushing guys to schools not named UT.

Am I getting that correct? It does make since with the huge disparity between Rivals and 247. Also, I’ve been hearing that about NPA for years. Interesting...

(someone fill me in on what NPA stands for?)

Nb4 there’s a hidden joke in there somewhere..

Yes. I think football, as we understand it, is already over -- it's just a matter of time. Y'all know Tyler Hilinski, the Wazzu QB who took his own life? A few days ago a report was released showing that, based on the autopsy, he already had CTE to such a degree that his brain looked like that of a 65-year old man.

I think the Chris Benoit murders, even though he wasn't a football player, caused a lot of people to take a closer look at CTE and what we are finding out is not pretty.

The folks that govern football leagues need to be a little more proactive than they've been to redirect the sport towards something sustainable.

The good news is that we will be a great soccer nation in a generation if football gets the kibosh.
