Boys I have loved football my whole life but I might have to give up following.
You guys are talking about being old and worn out. Im 48 and already had shoulder reconstruction and now Im having knee replacement. I went for a some kind of EEG yesterday and now going to have an MRI on my brain. Having memory loss.
Drs say its all of the concussions I had in my 17 years of football. I love it and love following. Its just now thinking that most of these kids will be going through what I have been because of the game makes it hard.
I want to follow and I want to go to the games, but now I want to go tell them to just stop while you can.
Its a double edge sword thats for sure. This is just my opinion but i think tackling shouldnt start until middle school. I think it would help in two ways, young boys who are really still developing majorly wouldnt get beat up and as many concussions (studies have shown that young kids are the most prone to concussions). And it also may combat child hood obesity if youre playing a spread out flag game, people wouldnt feel the need to beef up their 10 year old kid to play nose tackle or center.
Flame away.
