If Waffle House goes in the entertainment district, can they be open 24 hours a day? I was told that is the reason they aren’t on the strip.

Daily Devotional – Psalm 138:2
Scripture
"I will bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above

Reflection
Psalm 138 is a psalm of David that celebrates God's faithfulness. Verse 2 is remarkable because David says that God has exalted His name and His word above all things. In other words, God has chosen to reveal Himself through promises He always intends to keep. His reputation and His Word are inseparable.
That truth is deeply comforting. We live in a world where promises are often broken, plans change, and people disappoint us. God is different. Every promise He makes is backed by His unchanging character. When He says He will never leave you, He won't. When He promises forgiveness through Christ, it is complete. When He says He is working all things together for the good of those who love Him, He is faithful even when we cannot yet see the outcome.

This verse also begins with worship: "I will bow down... and give thanks." David's confidence in God produces humility before God. Gratitude isn't merely a response to answered prayers; it is a response to God's unchanging nature. We worship not only because of what God has done, but because of who He is.

This has practical implications for our daily lives. When work becomes stressful, relationships become strained, finances feel uncertain, or our own failures weigh us down, we have a solid place to stand: God's Word. Our emotions may rise and fall, but His promises remain firm. Returning to Scripture recalibrates our hearts to what is eternally true instead of what is temporarily overwhelming.


Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your steadfast love and unwavering faithfulness. Your Word has never failed, and Your promises are trustworthy in every season of life. Help me to build my life on what You have spoken rather than on what I see around me. Teach me to worship You with humility, to give thanks even before I see the answers, and to trust that You are always working for my good and Your glory. May my life reflect confidence in Your faithfulness so that others are drawn to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

What is it with folks in that Blount County area and pronunciation?

First, shouldn't it be: Blount, rhymes with count?

Second, what's with Murrrrrrrville?

Third, what's with Lewis-ville?

I've got relatives over there on the Lake. Nice people but they talk funny.

'vull' as in gull. Mar, as in spanish pronunciation. 'ugh' as in aghast.

Combine it in a social setting and you get "What year did to Mar-ugh-vull High Skew?"

When you say you went to SHHS they lost interest. "Buy my wife went there'"

"oh? what year?"

I worked with a young man from the area. He had this way of saying he was going home for the weekend.

Backhome. One word: I'm going backhome.

Not surprisingly, he was from "Grainback"

And, in fairness, it is pretty on the lake and laid back and family is family but the natives definitely crawled right out of the hollers when they kicked them out of the Park.

that's a tad judgmental for me. but i've found maryville to be click ish, with many small towns folk snobby for no reason.

I prefer blue collar

That was Gaelic football. It’s a blend of mostly soccer and rugby. Some dribbling like basketball involved too.
