Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

My dad passed away back in 2015 and him and my mom has a storage building out back and it has been packed for years and I just never went through any of it for my own reasons but here lately me and my wife has started going through their stuff to see what is even there and what we need to keep and get rid of. My dad had 5 4ft long storage bins stacked in a corner, we started there and opened them up and all 5 had nothing but record albums in them and some opened and some not. If I had to guess there were at least 600 in them. So we just put the lids back on and moved on. Then I opened another box praying that it was not another one with records. I found this Tennessee jacket,it was wrapped in a bag and I have never seen my dad in this jacket not 1 time. It looks like it has never been worn. It actually a heavy jacket. There were Tn pillows in this box and I never knew my dad buying Tn things. He would always buy Army things. It was just interesting. We stopped after that.573c9528-e630-4d0e-a33e-b9c40aec86ac.jpgc793dcde-ab92-4861-94f9-00f4805a7c31.jpg

Or you get caught up in the media coverage, too. People outside the city just see the news.

I don’t need to keep discussing it because I’ve done it too many times. You would think other Vols fans would show some compassion for 10,000 other fans who care about the county and make it their home. That’s the frustrating part.

Great areas DO negate the bad areas. My town has one of if not the best public school district in the state. So, yes, it matters. My town is one of the safest based on its population. I’ve been here for essentially 40 years than the 4 at UT.

People just see news and form an opinion. Walk in other people’s shoes
So you live in a suburb, not actually Memphis?

Nobody is saying for sure. Mods on VQ are mum on it (whatever “it” is).

All of the talk seems to be stemming from a Facebook post from Boo’s mom on Facebook where she more or less said that someone told UT that Boo is in a gang. Her story is that he isn’t in a gang.

The post was a few days ago. I would think we would have heard more by now if there were something serious going on, but time will tell.
I hear the entirety of the Bama and Texas squads are in a gang. So is DJ Lagway, as well as Sellers from SCar. Did a mention Georgia is in a gang, as well? Someone needs to tweet this to their ADs.

Seems sort of fated you'd find it. What do you plan on doing with it? It's a nice jacket.

Keep Boo out of trouble for 3 more weeks til fall practice starts and he should make it through the season (of course we see dudes get arrested or in trouble mid-season all the time). Come December he'll probably try to extort us again for more $$$. If his behavior and extracurriculars have been a problem during the season, cut him loose. Let him be someone else's to deal with. If he's serious about playing 10 years in the NFL, he will stay out of trouble and grind for 2 more years.

Ridiculous. You guys like your gossip more than a bunch of women.

Not really. Having a paradise on one side of the railroad tracks doesn't offset the dump on the other. If you just pick an elite suburb and say you should judge the whole city on that, you won't get many people to agree with you. Most people would rather not have a ton of murders happening at all, regardless of whether it's your neighborhood or the one across the tracks.

There are plenty of elite school districts in the country that aren't part of a higher than average crime metro area.

This is a social platform via media. Quite literally is social media

And you have a literal picture of yourself on this very platform lol
I'm the exception lol. And you still have no idea what my name is.

Yes by strict definition you could call it social media, I'm not disputing that; but only a few similarities to social media.

I hope it wasn’t TFG car. It was probably at a truck stop and he was in the bathroom getting a………pedicure.

Sure, because I’m sure Nashville and others are judged the same.

Like I said, 10,000 alumni should make a difference, but people watch the news instead.

I bet there aren’t many elite school districts in rural areas. They are all within higher populated areas, where crime happens. A vast majority of homicides occur in the same areas….throughout the country.

I never said to judge the “whole” city…but I did say it’s not nearly as bad as people think or want it to be.
