at any rate, dont see a correlation between any of that and anything even remotely resembling UT football.

I played three sports in HS. And knew people on VASF. Knew people at IVK & VRN, I'll just leave it there.
Still love it. Stopped playing a few years ago as my ankle would swell after indoor games. I took it as a sign to stop before something worse happened. And I only speak of football by what I have learned, but I have inside info for a football perspective. Like I’ve said, my neighbor is a VFL and we watch games. Played for Fulmer and was one of the VFLs called by Pruitt over the summer for input.

Considering the utter toxic wasteland this job was when Rick Barnes fell into our lap, he has worked a near miracle and we should thank him for it...he is worth every damn dime he gets, and I wish idiots would quit bitchin about it.

I don't care if he ever wins a title here, he has built a program from ashes that provides us with good solid teams with outstanding young men that we can and should be very proud of...he is worth every f'n dime..period.

Every word. The wasteland you refer to was littered with garbage for many years. They would hit a high spot or two and immediately tank with hired and fired coaches along with bad press and terrible recruiting. Barnes is the one guy that can sustain the success. He has already proven it. I hope he gets us to a FF here, but if he doesn't he will still have been worth every cent of his contract. He has laid a foundation of success, a way of doing things for the future that all of us can point to and be proud for years to come after he retires.

Which is what we want for the football program. It's that simple.

Behind closed doors he has done more damage to the football program since he departed than any single person in the history of the program. If you ask any current coach who has been there since he has been AD in a closed room setting you would be astonished to hear the meddling and the toxic environment he has created. Trust me here...as more and more of this staff leave the more and more dirt will come out publicly about him and it will be a real bad look for him and the university for allowing it to happen.

There is a reason why you have a large conglomerate of very high profile boosters who have demanded him ride off into the sunset...guess we will see what happens.

This sucks to hear. Fulmer was a strong reason I came to UT (as a student/fan from out of state, not a player).
I've always associated him with Tennessee and always thought he had the best intentions for the school and program. I was so excited when he took over as AD.

Always wanted to meet him and shoot the breeze.

Not questioning anything you're saying because I believe you truly know, but that popped a bubble for me.

I did, I watched the World Cup final in I think in 1994. They play for 16 hours and its a tie. They decided the game by taking turns kicking the ball from like 3 feet away. I was like, you gotta be kidding me.

The FACT that no one, not one halfway respected program wanted him told me all I needed to know about how he was perceived in CFB as a head coach.

It's futbol. And Smyrna is right. Those stadiums in Europe like Old Trafford are NFL quality. Barcelona's home stadium seats about 90.

Buddy sent vids from Barcelona match. It's raucous. Makes Florida game look tame.
