Of course. What does loyalty have to do with it? He wants to win as badly as fans want to win. He just so happens to have a financial stake in it. This scenario occurs in thousands of jobs across the country.

It is also a quality of life situation. Coaches don’t want “fired” on their resume and have to be ridiculed by a fan base. It’s human nature, and Pruitt has shown that he wants to win. Making a poor personnel choice doesn’t change that.

Your first response about it was poor with “just collecting a paycheck.” That’s fine. But just hiring a VFL would not automatically make things better. If that were the case, programs would just hire alums every time they hired a coach. You have to go find the best candidate. Pruitt absolutely has some loyalty- he gets paid and he wants to win. Doesn’t make him a poor fit.
