I'm more worried our defense, his and Ansley's defense, isn't what was expected. We were talking a top 5 or top 10 defense and we still look a year or 2 away from that.

Maybe it will improve the last 5 games like last year...that's where my eggs of hope are for them.
Yep...two guys with stirling reputations as defensive savants forgot how to coach...that does not compute...at all.

That to me is ridiculous..the more logical reason that can be deduced is that they just do not enough medium-high quality developed players...yet.

We may not like that answer, but it just about has to be the truth.

I just posted this in the FF and think it’s relevant to what you guys are discussing here

Good post
I'd be interested to see what that trend is in the NFL... good to see its not just us... it also brings us back to our main problem... our offense is scoring 22.2 ppg and nowhere near putting 30 on anyone relevant

just for comparison, teams that we are about to play and need to beat: A&M is averaging 27.5 ppg, Auburn 24.4 ppg, AK 23 ppg...

I don't watch our games live. I record them and watch it if we win and delete it if we lose. I can honestly say that I've never yelled at my TV though. In the past, I've been in bars and seen it first hand from some people and I don't think it's a good look. I also don't go to bars and watch games anymore :):). I think with age comes wisdom :D:D
You one of those old ****s that chastise people in front of you for standing and preventing you and Bunny from seeing what the yungins are doing on the field? 😉

So, I missed the 3rd quarter Hyatt catch on Saturday. I went back and watched that and part of the Auburn-Ole Miss game. You know it's bad when both broadcasts are bewildered that the replay booth did not review two clearly controversial plays.
Other coaches get to challenge.

Also is our defense going to intercept a ball this season?? They had multiple chances against Bama and they drop everything!
That is crazy...and it is just a weird fluky thing. The UGA game alone looks a lot different if they catch the four balls Bennett threw right to them..and UGA scored on each one of those drives..

They didn't forget how to coach, they don't have the talent they are used to. I think that's the difference.

I think they could pare down the playbook like they have with JG. JG is not a threat to run, and does not make the right read or throws. JG is nothing more than a game manager at QB. The team is in need of a play maker at QB. Just imagine if Dobbs was the starting QB right now....we would be 3 - 1 at worst.
see, that's where i disagree. i don't htink they've simplified the offense for JG. i think they've limited some of the plays because of what he's proven to be capable/incapble of, and that htere's some other personnel limitations, like NO TE and no big WR to go over the middle....but they haven't limited the play book because of his lack of understanding of it.

JG makes the right reads more times than not, he does not, however, get there fast enough or is just late with the delivery, or has made an errant throw.....he consistently does the checks correctly.

i agree on the game manager, and the reason that's the case is because of his understanding of the playbook, what to get in to, or out of, at the line, call protections, get everyone lined up etc.....

he's just not dynamic at all in the pocket, and is not consistent at all with delivery, accuracy or timing......he'd probably be pretty good in the AAC or CUSA.................

Yet another A plus observation there. No, seriously. They’re used to much different talent and I think you can tell it

Alabama has the best offense in the country so I'm not surprised they whooped us, but it's extremely concerning how bad our defense is. I though Pruitt and Ansley were DB specialist. Our DBs are worst this year than last year. Bryce Thompson is barely better than the time he stepped foot on campus. Alontae is an athele that still hasn't picked up the position. Our safety's seem to leave wide receivers run open. And we cant cover a slot receiver or TE across the middle.

DL pressure matters

Really?...Who doesn't? Every person I have ever watched a game with does it...including my mom dying of cancer..
who else would you learn it from? lol. my mom and grandmother cussed like sailors, at the radio, or at the TV, whichever one the game was on, on Saturdays in the fall...lol.
