Wow, did we need this week to get here desperately! 4-1 entering the bye is probably where we all thought we would be before the season started. What we didn’t expect is for the defense to be struggling so much, for Joey Aguilar to be so so good, for the injuries to be devastating so early in the season, and for our record to be where it is because we dropped a game to Georgia in OT that we should have won and won a game in OT at MSU that we might should have lost. So, the net is we are still 4-1, and have a lot to look forward to if we can get healthy and correct our mistakes.

Keys to win the bye week:

1. GET HEALTHY ON DEFENSE! This is the most important key these next 2 weeks. We have weathered a lot of adversity the first 5 weeks. Now, we need everyone back healthy and to hope McCoy is ready to be back close to what he was pre-injury.

2. Can we please practice fundamental tackling and taking better angles in the off week? Both have been atrocious for our defense.

3. Get every single offensive skill position player on the JUGS machine every day all day (except Brazzell), and especially Kitselman, Staley, and all the RBs!

4. Coaches, you have some things to evaluate schematically (defense) and with in-game decisions we are making, as well as clock management mistakes (Heup). These things need corrected just as much as the things above.

Do these things, hone in on fundamental
Football, and we win the bye week and should be prepared for the next 4 game gauntlet before our next bye. LETTUCE GO!

ONE TEAM, ONE HEARTBEAT!

agree on need for healthy D...it will make a huge difference in coming weeks.

Also, timeouts are gold, but you can't save them for after the game and take them to the bank. Clock management not good...they should have to run laps.

He was overly respectful of Lebby's offense.

This was in the FF in the "Suspend those refs" thread. I thought the RF would be interested, particularly you two.

David Smith was a 1988 alabama team captain, the starting QB, and also the 1988 Sun Bowl MVP. He gets assigned to 2 or 3 TENNESSEE games per year.

Steve Marlowe is from Birmingham and went to Hewitt-Trussville High School, which is 20 minutes east of Birmingham. He's a manager at Alabama Power Company in Birmingham. He also hates the VOLS and gets assigned to 2 or 3 of our games per year. He officiated our Georgia game this season. Georgia had zero penalties in the 2nd half.

There are several other officials with ties to the university of alabama but these are the 2 "white hats" that should never be assigned to officiate a TN, auburn, or really any other SEC ball game. It's a conflict of interest and extremely unfair. Why the league office ever got moved to Birmingham is beyond unbelievable.

*There's way too much money in our league to be using part time referees. The SEC can afford to pay professional officials and can also hold them accountable for bad, game changing calls but they won't. It's exactly how they want it..... CORRUPT and slanted to help the university of alabama.

**I also feel like when Birmingham "assigns" either these jokers or some other crooked Gump lover to our games, they're still trying to pay us back for Phillip Fulmer turning them in for recruiting violations in the late 90s/early 2000s.

***The tide fans/university of al have no morals and that's why the SEC office has to be moved out of the south and get the gumps totally cleaned out of it.

On it... Is that .long distance? If so I got a block on my phone ...😆

What should I say? I'm a Tennessee Vols fan and I'm calling to complain about officiating. I'm sure I will get a big dial tone after making that statement..

Special Teams are becoming a liability. Alignment on Punt Return unsound.
Adjustment to Empty Set was bad: Got away with it a couple of times.
Need to improve LB drops in Zone.
Angles and Leverage on the Edge.

Nothing the coaches don't already know. I fully expect to see improvement across the board when Arky stumbles in.
