Music City Ruck March
Hey there VolNation.
NO pressure. But just more of an FYI. I am just sharing the word and hope you might also for the cause.
In an intentional effort to do hard things via a disciplined mindset, I discovered rucking as a hobby in 2025. I came out of a brief cancer scare earlier this year and decided I wanted to push myself physically the same way I did in my early/mid 20s when I played college football. I am 38 with two young boys.
So I committed to a weightlifting routine. I now lift 5 days a week. But I also discovered rucking.
I also now ruck with a +30lb bag 7 days a week.
I do 3.5 miles every day I lift (5 days a week) and 6-10 miles every non lift day (2 days a week). I do this all before 8am every day of the week. Every day.
I have committed to compete in the Music City Ruck March, heavy class, in October of this year. Heavy class means my bag will weigh at least 35lbs. I will compete for distance over time during a 2 hour event. All money raised in the event goes to veteran programs here in Middle Tennesse.
Tennessee is called the Volunteer State based on its proud military history of answering the call of our nation in our moments of need… and I am proud to compete for fundraising for the military families of our namesake who have answered this call.
I will also be making a personal donation based on distance completed.
I appreciate moral support and also appreciate any donations and/or sharing of the cause that you can give.
Go Vols.
