When in any of that did he say anything himself about TN? The reporter kept asking him about it, but not once did Hoover say, yeah TN offered but I didn’t want to go there. Instead he literally said TCU is where I want to be, he gave more coach speak than most coaches did and never once did he mention TN at all. So you read it one way and I read it to the fact that the idiot TCU reporter wanted to keep saying TN offered but that he is just so much in love with TCU he wanted to stay. Listen, TCU sucks, even with him they won 9 games last year and we went to the playoffs while they played in the New Mexico bowl that no one watched lol. I’m sure we went searching for another QB, but I’m not sure we put the full court press on anyone and started waving huge dollars for it either. That reporter kept wanting to make it a story like he knew and Hoover just kept saying he wanted to stay in Fort Worth. If we really did offer an extra million Hoover would be the dumbest guy on the planet, because TCU isn’t going anywhere as Texas, Texas Tech and prob TAMU are all better and Baylor beat them last year. We on the other hand might be a playoff team again, especially with him. So he’d be an idiot to turn down more money AND winning football.Sure man you are right. We were totally comfortable rolling with two QBs with no in-game experience. Despite the substantial evidence that we went after multiple starting power 4 QBs, that was all a lie and CJH was just playing 4D chess all along. That is exactly what happened.
I think he was more comfortable than you think. Not with 2 qbs but that’s why he got another. We will see in a few weeks after fall camp I guessSure man you are right. Think I will stick with CJH and his staffing decisions. Too many folks trusting their own THINKING from afar generates a lot of noise. Bet CJH talks to coaches frequently and evaluates how they did WITH WHAT HE SUPPLIED THEM.
Pretty simple, CJH makes the only relevant evaluations of the OL Coach. If he thought his production was deficient and could be improved by a new body, he would pull the trigger. He won’t make a change till after this season, so negative shots have zero value add to the program and COULD have a negative impact, like for every target. Very few want to sign on to a projected lame duck. Not rocket science. Prospects may not want to analyze posters track record.
Alan Cockrell? just a guess@peaygolf
We all know Todd Helton played QB and baseball at Tennessee plus was a HOF Major League player. Although before Todd Helton there was another QB/Baseball player at Tennessee that played In MLB played in 9 major league games after a long Minor league career. Actually played for Rockies also..can you remember this person's name.?
No one wants to hear about your Hustler collection.
Correction, no one other than @The Dog wants to hear about your Hustler collection.
Damn, where did this crap come from ? Have you all missed me ? Sorry, this is my busy season. When it's hot, just know, The Dog is working his tail off. Btw, Weezer was right, I prefer Hustler.
Finally looking at the upcoming roster...I'd be lying if I said the offensive skill, as it stands, isn't a bit disappointing.
Does anyone see a first or second team All-SEC player on offense? I'm seeing Bishop and Lewis projected as our RB1/RB2. Maybe Matthews or Kitselman could develop into an All-SEC first/second teamer. Heard on OL? That's about as far as the eye can see right now, being optimistic.
I'm thankful for our scheme, which should cover a lot up, as always. Being left with UCLA's QB2 and losing Sampson is a tough road to climb in the SEC, let's be honest. The OL will need to be dominant. I think the run game will find a way to eat, the question will be keeping drives alive through the air.
The defense will be the backbone once again imo and that's fine until Faizon arrives or GMac explodes onto the scene. It's a rebuild year and we need to rebuild for sure. Build depth and grow this year.
Great years ahead is undoubted given the pipeline and elite coaching we have. But I'm worried about the crazy moran histrionics in the meantime. Just focus on the future if you must, morans. It's blinding.
I forgotabout Jimmy Streater and Steve AlatorreCockrell was a All-American Baseball player at Tennessee while starting at QB in 1982-83 seasons.
TCU sucks because they only won 9? Wow, some of you calling people idiots and others saying teams “suck” really need to learn how to increase your vocabulary to show a little more intelligence. I wonder where some of you went to school! When in any of that did he say anything himself about TN?
