Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I sat courtside for the UF game. I can attest that they are not. I can also attest that some of the snobby rich folks were cheering just fine.

The populist outrage gets tiresome. Don't like how we fan? Pay what we pay and come show us.
Whoa there richie rich! Will you buy us a new O-line coach? (A populist outrage item)

In general, there's absolutely a reason for populist outrage....but not for this forum.
I assume that most folks on this forum embrace the concept of supply and demand, populists or otherwise. Tickets are expensive because there is more demand than supply, much like beach houses and Bitcoin. Expensive tickets are also the direct result of winning. Perhaps you'd like to return to mediocrity?

Good question. Have Hubbs, Price, or any of them said anything about potential replacement?
On the podcast earlier Hubbs eluded to Chop being a likely replacement, but said he hasn't heard anything official yet. He also said he thinks Banks wants Chop to have more of an on field role.

It's not quite as simple as Supply and Demand meaning what impacts supply or demand is of interest (devil is in the details). As was the initial reason for the post, ticket prices (and rising fees) are going up to support ever increasing costs (NIL, Renovations, etc.). If prices go up enough, quite possibly, 'regular fans' will be priced out of attending games in person (or as many games). For me personally, that's not a good development.

Part of it is also this is a business, like it or not.

And businesses interested in making money don’t care about the poors. It’s an unfortunate and ugly truth. Too much money involved for this thing to be ran any other way. At the end of the day they just want to increase revenue.

I have said my piece before on ticket prices, but I know the struggle is real also. It does suck, but to achieve low tickets likely means low quality. I don't want to live through low quality again. I am hopeful the entertainment district can also provide some game day experiences at a cheaper cost.

You know when the Wagon Queen Family Truckster pulls (backs) into a $40 parking spot, between an Infiniti SUV and Lexus SUV driven by an 18 year old coed, and her friend Bambi. They and their wife beater, hat backwards have been drinking Pappy since 330. Things may be a bit askew.
