Recruiting Football Talk VII

I’m a little biased. As a Chelsea fan, I just endured Poch ball for the last year and that’s not a roller coaster I want to get back on at this point 😅 We produced a lot of chances and were top half of the league in goals scored, but the defense was Swiss cheese. It was like watching an imitation Josh Heupel offense that’s good but not great but paired with a Sal Sunseri defense.
Not to mention that Poch has a knack for letting trophies slip thru his fingers. Like losing to Klopp’s Kids in the Carabao Cup. Klopp was handling him a trophy and he couldn’t win it.

I’ll bite. It doesn’t hurt because we needed him specifically, but because we’re still not recruiting at a level where we can afford for our top rated guys to be busts. We need those guys to pan out to keep the pressure on to continue elevating our talent and level of play. Not nicking, but really disappointed. I thought a couple years with the right diet and weigh training would make him a solid rotational player. We’ll never find out.
Disappointed 💯

Like everyone else, I thought @bignewt was being a giant a**hole the other day, as well...we all know what im talking about...

However, with that said, im in full agreement with him, and have always been, as it pertains to using that stupid bullsh!t "natty" term. All of you who say it, keep in mind, you look and sound like that Texas d-bag in the clip. Congratulations.

Before we continue this conversation 👀😅 what did I miss😭😂😂

Penn State is really questionable, but if you include them, you have to include us. We have more titles, a much longer track record of success, several national championship coaches, and a similar level of brand awareness and distinction.
Penn State has beaten Tennessee 3 of the 5 games they have played. Tennessee has as much right to be in the blue blood category as PennState. However, the period after Flumer and before Heupel, was not in the blue blood tradition.

The whole Klopps kids narrative was blown out of proportion, IMO. There was some truth in it but at no point during the course of the game did Liverpool have a squad that was younger in average age than Chelsea did. I forget the actual number but Chelsea were top 5 in all of Europe for youngest average squad age. The media also liked to ignore that Chelsea had the most injuries of all the teams in the PL last year and had been without their top captain and vice captain, plus other key players most of the year and in that game.

The difference where I can understand the Klopps kids angle was that Chelsea was a young squad but they had time to gel and play together after their key injuries. Liverpool had just encountered their injury situation so less time for the young guys to gel. So that part of that narrative is fair, but the academy kids that played were also well versed in Klopps system. So, hard to know what the net positive / net negative was between the teams. JMO.

My wife complains about how I knowed it instead of I knew it. I'm terrible, like really terrible. She hates it and is constantly telling my kids to not talk like me. (She homeschools them and it drives her nuts) you can correct me and I'll be fine, I'm used to it.
My papaw that raised me always said it and I would always jokingly correct him..😏English grammar was always one of my best subjects so I would put it to good use.

It's ok, for the most part. This is Volnation, not an English class. Though, if you say something like 'I seen it'...I may come after you.
You want believe what I saw but when I seen it I was amazed. Then I told my significant other and when she saw it she couldn't believe what she had seen.🧐

Its funny that every time we visit my family in Benton and Delano she says that we all talk alike and murder the English language. She is like you and always excelled in English and grammar in school. I've mentioned it before but my first freshman English composition class in college I wrote a research paper with 3 aints in it. Luckily my professor gave it back to me to fix.

Yeah while I excelled in English grammar, I’ve gotten really lazy about speaking it properly..aint’s, double negatives, and such.😙
