Firing an established coach doesn't mean that year's recruiting class is a disaster. Take Fulmer's first class after taking over for CJM in 1993:

Impact players:Leonard Little, Jay Graham, Trey Teague

Significant contributors: Tori Noel, Robert Poole, Bill Duff

Prep All Americans that never played: Ryan Collins (transferred) Ivan Zenon (drowned in the Gulf Mexico)

This class was better than Fulmer has recruited in the past few years despite the recruiting rating. Granted the new head coach was an assistant on the previous staff which would obviously help recruiting.

Honestly, I think you need to prepare yourself for a mediocre class. Though you cited one positive example, I can show you tons of examples in the other direction.

Damn! Has that been that long ago? I remember his parents were introduced guests at a game that year at Neyland.
