I did this back in the summer & thought I would do it again to make it easy to see where we stand w/ certain guys & what the class looks like.

Number Breakdown: Expected class, 25

Commitments by position: 19 (I have Tino Thomas factored in)

QB - 1
RB - 2
WR - 3
OL - 0
TE - 0
DE - 2
DT - 2
LB - 4
CB - 2
S - 2
K -1

5* - 0 , 4* - 9, 3* - 8, 2* - 2

EE's - 12

6 spots left (Could be 1 or 2 more depending on if anyone gets greyshirted)

Prospects still on the board that we are in good shape for:

3* OL Andrew Jelks
4* WR Cordarrelle Patterson
4* DE Denico Autry

Prospects we still have work to do w/ but are a major factor:

4* ATH Alton "Pig" Howard
4* TE Justin Meredith
4* TE Sean Price
4* TE Blake Jackson
4* RB Marion Grice
3* DB Karl Joseph
3* DT Earl Moore
3* DE Kenderius Whitehead

Prospects that we are in the discussion for but I think are longshots:

5* DE Darius Hamilton
5* Landon Collins
4* DT Justin Shanks
4* DT Daniel McCullers
4* LB Javierre Mitchell
4* DT Korren Kirven
4* DE Leonard Williams
4* DE Francis Kallon

Hope this is a good breakdown & helps a little.

Interesting that ESPN has O'Brien at #55 DT and Rivals has him at #12. I hope Rivals is more accurate on this one cause we need him to make an impact.

That's my best guess. I said 7 because I think one of Cody Blanc or George Bullock will either be dropped/grayshirted, and or Imani Cross may go somewhere else. And there's the possibility of Damien Jacob's going elsewhere.

Hadn't heard about Cross possibly going elsewhere. Source?

Looks like Dooley is putting together a solid class. Should be top 15. It sucks though that we'll still be searching for a game changing RB in 2012.. I think that's the only thing standing between Tennessee and an SEC championship.

QB Peterman – 4*
RB Cross – 3*
RB Hill – 3*
DT O'Brien – 4*
DT Jacobs -4*
DE Taylor -4*
LB Santos – 4*

Also, Cross isnt a EE & I think King has said he will be.

I think Damien is Tennessee's selling point to Denico. Those guys are teamates. We need both and I think we'll get both. Double-D in Tennessee.

Well, I just know a lot of people and even he said he was looking around at some point. I think he's became more solid, but I think he's definitely one that if anyone jumped ship, you'd have to mention his name. Hope not. he's a solid back.

Wish we could land Grice. That guy is phenomenal. Game changer.

I think Grice is just waiting on an A&M offer. Once that happens, he commits on the spot.

I'd be fine with that finish, even I'd love for Tennessee to get McCullers, if we get Shanks that would be a good replacement, because I'd love to get Shanks. No homo.:eek:k:

Espn also has Jay Guillermo as the number 1 center and as a 4 star while everywhere else he is about average.

I think they were the first to put KHenderson at a good ranking - even prior to rivals evaluating at all if i remember right

wonder who the best source is at this point

He already got one, IIRC... and didn't commit on the spot.

Are you sure about that? I heard like last week they still haven't offered.

This was said only a week ago

Grice told 247Sports last month that Texas A&M was his “dream school,” adding that he “would probably commit” to the Aggies if he received an offer from them. But while he admitted that he grew up watching A&M, he didn’t offer any guarantees this week that the Aggies would move to the top of his list if they decided to make an offer.
