Recommend a good race wheel

I've never purchased a steering wheel before for gaming. However it's becoming more and more clear to me that my son is going to be a car/racing fanatic. I thought it would be a fun project for us to build a cockpit and mount a wheel on it for race games. What wheels are of good quality that you would recommend?

For PC, Xbox360, PS3, I would probably go with the G27. If you are talking about the PS4, I know they have the Thrustmaster for the Xbone and PS4. Not sure if they have comfirmed any compatability with the older wheels with the PS4 or Xbone

You should see the steering wheel mount/frame I made a few years back for Forza. It is collecting dust now in the garage, but it was fun while i used it.

PS3/PS4. Yeah I looked at the G27 and I like it. However there has been no confirmation yet as to whether it will be compatible with PS4. I'm waiting to see about that first I think.

"Sigh" I just dont know if I want to pay that much for a peripheral. Especially one that is so specialized that you can't use with anything else.

That's what has always kept me from getting one. That and lack of space.
