1. Kansas State is really good. Ole Miss will get some serious mileage out of their win over the Wildcats come Selection Sunday.
2. Given UT's defensive deficiencies in the backcourt, I'm glad we don't play K State. Pullen and Clemente might combine for 70 against our matadors.
3. UNLV is going to be alright. They just ran into a buzzsaw today.
4. The people at The Orleans have done a really nice job making their arena more basketball friendly. I'd like to see UT sign up for one of the tournaments played in the building.
5. Another great win for New Mexico. The best thing Steve Alford ever did was leave the Big Ten.
6. Louisville has serious problems. If they don't get healthy and focused quick, they are going to get buried in the Big East.
7. The PAC 10 is a disgrace. They should shut down for the season before they further embarrass themselves.
8. Kentucky showed they can take a punch on the road. Their run at the start of the second half was impressive.
9. Indiana is getting there. Crean is one more recruiting class from having them in contention for conference titles.
10. If the coaching rumor mill is right here in Vegas, and it usually is, it's going to be a wild offseason. There are going to be some schools throwing big money around.

these two go hand in hand, because Crean really needs a big time inside presence. Kentucky really exploited that today. his guard play is already there. Creek, Watford, Jones and Rivers have that well under control.

seems like Pritchard has either regressed, or it was a case of being a decent player on a horrible team last year.

I think Kansas State and New Mexico will both be in the poll next Monday.

I will be interested if UT has a Final Four this year and Bruce Pearl leaves. Some people on here think Bruce will never be a great coach. If the Final Four type run happens, I do not think he will be paid more than he currently is (and I do not think he should be necessarily) but it will be interesting to see.

I think Elston will end up being a better player than Pritchard.

I'd be remiss if I didn't send kudos out to Max Good for taking Marymount into South Bend and beating Notre Dame.

I was gonna start a thread but i'll just ask the guru. Why doesn't the backcourt play defense?

Players treat as important that which their coaches emphasize. If it's not a priority to the guy making 2 mil plus, you can rest assured the guys playing for their scholarship aren't going to concern themselves with it.

Our guys will flat get after some inbounds passes. Jimmy Dykes loves it.

I really liked Dykes when he was actually an analyst. Now, he's just another ESPN guy with a schtick.

He's a good guy, but his TV persona is brutal. I was in a small group with him and he'll tell you it's part of the ESPN thing. Only couple of guys are immune. They don't believe in the game as the sole story.

What tells you this team is remotely capable of going to a Final Four?

Everyone will have a chance to see kansas and kentucky versus us.

This team has 4 seniors. 2 can make the nba if they make a deep tournament run. They have played like crap often this year but they also have 1 loss to the number 5 team.

Kansas looks tough, but when you watch teams play this year you see very few that look like they are complete and dominant.

Hat thinks purdue is overrated to the extent he said they are not top 10 by March, I think villanova will not finish top 3 in their conference.

Who said Villanova isn't overrated? They have respectable guard play and look well coached. They have some legit and likely irreparable deficiencies.

I have a question...we have played 1 respectable team. The rest were scrubs, and two of those scrub teams gave us a scare(MTSU we ended up pulling away from, but a quality team capitalizes on our poor play). Why does everyone feel that UT is so entitled to a deep tournament run after going 7-1 against practically no competition. Shouldn't the "Proclamation of amazingness" jury be out until we get into the meat of the schedule? I mean, some people already feel entitled to a final 4
