ADs are suppose to promote the Athletic Department and the Sports there under. Yes we do not have the best facilities in the NCAA, No you cannot get a viable Education at UT, The SEC is not a Very Competitive Conference, We cannot get the Fan base energized to support the games.
OUR AD DID NOT SAY THIS DIRECTLY, BUT SOUNDS LIKE HE IS SETTING US UP FOR THE NEXT HIRE AT UT.
IF IT IS TOO HOT IN THE KITCHEN MAYBE HE SHOULD STEP OUT AND LET SOMEONE ELSE DO IT.
He is a good AD, Pearl's hiring was the best hire the university has done in many years. There may not be one like it for football but the least you can do is to attempt to get to that level before you even try. Blaming it on the Size of the State's Recruiting Base and Geographical Location is not an answer, IT IS AN EXCUSE!
What I heard was stay the Course (Status Quo) because there are not that many alternatives.
