I'm curious, assuming we hire just a good, not great, coach and retain none of our coaches (horrible mistake to not retain JG and Pittman IMO), who do you guys feel we end with and lose out to?

My best case scenario is this:
QB: Ferguson
RB: *Green
WR: *Harris, Stewart, *North, Smith
TE: Truly don't know. Wilson maybe??? Jackson?
OL: Skipper, Sanders, Koehler, Kendrick
DL: Crayton, *Carr, *Bradley, Sanders
LB: Barns, Zanca, Vereen, *Campbell, Goeas, *Cunningham, Levenberry
DB: Sutton, Maybin, *Bell

Stars indicate guys I feel like we won't end up with, but hope we do.

I think if we get a good coach, it won't matter for Derrick Green as long as Jay Graham is retained.

At this point I dont consider anyone but maybe Sanders a commit going forward. If we get a coach in here in the next couple days, say Strong, hes going to bring the heat with some high level kids and then use the dead period to evaluate the kids committed now. I could see some being told to look elsewhere for obvious reasons.

I really want to keep Campbell, Carr, Harris, and Bradley. I fear those 4 guys are the most likely to leave at this point. You keep those four with Maybin, Sutton, Sanders, Skipper, Smith, Vereen, Zanca, and Ferguson and you have a solid foundation to build upon in recruiting. The rest of the guys will be in jeopardy IMO when a new coach is brought in.

I hope we hire a coach that has the ability to retain the kids that we have committed and can flip some to Tennessee. I hope we can make an announcement very very soon.

Hard to tell at this point. If Strong comes in he could potentially have several prospects ready to roll with him. Hes obviously going to do his best to finish the class and also bring guys in who fit his system. Strong runs a 4-3 defense so he may not think some of the guys we have committed fit that.

Gun to my head I would say someone like Joe Sanders could be shown the door and any of the project LBers depending on what Strong brings in. We dont have a ton of room left and if the rumors of the Trinity kids etc will come with him hes going to have to make room plus look for some upgrades.
