Realistic Expectations for 2012

After seeing the Vols play their first real competition of the year this past weekend, what should the expectations be for the rest of the year? I think it'll be a rat race between the gump schools down south and the Vols to make Hoover...

i just think it is too early to tell about this team. i'm excited about them but, we have a long way to go before we can play with the big boys. i think we can make the tourney in hoover, with a little luck and good pitching. alabama is rotten this year and auburn isn't much better. vandy was stripped, so i think we make it.

Realism is probably overrated for a true fan... Most of us are hoping for the best and glad the team has done as well as it has so far..

I'd say we can make the SEC Tournament. It'll be a battle, but this team looks like it has the toughness to get there.

With noted improvement, and an offseason for Martin to further his plan. The potential pick up of 1-3 key players and also momentum of at least this run they are on; I think the pressure will be to maintain a what they have already achieved. My guess on actual projection would be something like projected #3 in SEC and my own projection for their record next year looks something like 24-7 overall. so im thinking what like preseason #17 team in the country. Just my 2¢

I think dooley gets it together and we finish 8-4 with a decent bowl win.
