Realistic Coach for Tennessee?????????
As I ponder this question, I reflect on a conversation I had two weeks ago with a former player prior to the Alabama game and a comment I heard last night on the Nation.
First we need a coach that will stop the divide in the fan base. Secondly and more importantly we need a coach with Tennessee ties, a coach that has experienced the program and know whats it is to wear the orange.
Gruden, everybody's pick with ties to 86' and 87' teams under Majors as a grad asst.Definitely would bring excitement back to the program INSTANT MONEY WINDFALL.
Cutcliffe, proven coach on the offensive side but still a question if he can get it done against Alabama, Florida's, etc. add Chavis definite yes.
Fulmer would be like Snyder at K-State, he would be hungry to prove the naysayers wrong and would be successful but the Nation would be divided.
Peyton, no coaching experience but definitely capable of being an outstanding coach and has the name and presence to be a one of the best. Will he ever coach?Peyton would be a winner and INSTANT CASH WINDFALL FOR TENNESSEE.
Tee Martin, not ready for head coach yet but one day will be one. Not ready for head coach yet but would love to have him on the staff.
Dale Jones, long time coach at Applachian State on defense. A legend player, coach I don't know about to explain I don't follow that league. Dale would be an older fan favorite for assistant coach.
Marion Hobby, good asst coach.
Jay Graham, great asst coach.
Tracy Hayworth, great asst coach.
If you go outside the family for a head coach, go after a proven head coach; Stoops, Kelly, Del Rio, etc.
If South Carolina can go get a Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier, WHY DO WE HAVE A DOOLEY?
