What is the real truth about Brandon Warren? All during fall practice we heard from every practice that he was a game changer and a difference maker but now he cannot even get into the game to make a difference. In the UAB game Nik Stevens threw him a pass that picked up considerable yardage and I haven't heard anything about him since. There has to be something wrong that we are not being told. Surely they have not just forgotten about him like they did with Hardesty in a game last year. Does Crompton not like him and will not throw to him? Has he gotten in the coaches dog house? Looks to me like in this sad state of affairs they need every playmaker they can get their hands on. If anyone has the inside information I would surely like to hear it.

Foolmer says he is not as good a blocking TE than Stocker but again what the hell dies he know

our qb can't throw the ball. I think it's hard to put much blame on receivers at this point.

i don't know, but he is one of our big playmakers and we need to work like heck to get him in the game...

i have watched every replay of games this year and been to one. crompton has TERRIBLE field vision. He is unable to chack down to the 2 or 3 receivers. I dont know how many times this year(just about every incompletion) someone has been wide open. Wide open enough some could have went to the house untouched. Many of these include warren. Warren has been open a ton this year as well as lucas taylor but the ball is not getting to them. Clawson said his offense is about getting it into the playmakers hands but crompton isnt getting it done. Thats the problem. Im sure its very frustrating to not just warren. Pay attention to some of the replays during the game and then re-broadcasts of the game and you will see many receivers with their hands in the air looking like WTF??

i agree, its hard to put in a game-changing receiving TE when we have a qb who might not even start in a girl scout league. our only offense has been the run game and crompton still cant pass when they load 8-9 guys in the box. warren cant get the ball because theres no one that can get it to him. i will have to agree that if stocker is the better run blocker he's been the right start based on the fact that ou rrun game is our only option with that fool under center

Warren is an incredible talent. Bowden was looking at playing him on both sides of the ball before he transfered.

That said, FSU's offense has been terrible for years, yet Warren was still All-ACC and a freshman All-American. There is no reason for him to disappear while he is here. I think our play calling has left him out.

I saw warren play at fsu several times in person and he was very impressive with some subpar qb's.

There were 8 passes completed to anyone Saturday. Take away the three dumps to RB's and you've got 5 passes completed downfield to anybody.

Saying Warren is a "weapon" with Crompton at QB is tantamount to saying a Ferrari is a fast car but without any gas. Crompton is the14th rated passer in a league of 12 teams. It's honest to God that simple.

Kellen Winslow, Jr. was never a good blocker. Jeremy Shockey was nevey a good blocker.........

This is a no brainer. Crompton is the problem here. I read a couple weeks ago Warren was frustrated because he was open and wasn't getting the ball. Stephens proved this in one pass for 42 yards. Wake up Fulmer!

Just plain and simple wated talent , he's not being used, you have 4 good back 3 hold the ball real good most times but one has a fumble problem, but Saturdays issue was soloy on the hands of Crompton he droped the ball before our great fumbler got there.
But anyway we have 4 back you run them until the wheels fall off and throw out to you ends and downfield someones gonna break open a huge run or reception, thats plain and simple . KISS

I'd imagine that's how ALL of the receivers feel. Good grief. Mentioned twice today on Birmingham sports radio (WJOX) that there were two times that he missed wide open receivers that would have been TDs. Auburn's secondary wasn't there... and he missed. Again. And again.

Not just Warren. Rogers and Briscoe have how many catches this into season? Didn't the annoucer for the game say Rogers caught just his 2nd pass for the season? Is that right? He and Briscoe have been huge over the last couple of years. I am surprised the team (including Warren, the receivers, and the defense which has shown up for the most part this year) hasn't given Crompton more grief.

i agree, crompton has very very bad field vision....three of us at the game watch different positions on offence, one on qb, one on wr's and one on te's.....when crompton drops back and looks at his first read...if he is covered, he gives up while other wr's run open, warren was open numerous times

I expected Warren to be a H-back and Stocker to be the TE similar to last years team, where Warren would line up in different positions. I don't like the way they use him, with a TE, FB, and a H-back in the game at the same time.

I don't think we need a FB with Warren, even though UT's FB is one of the few bright spots on the team this year.

If we could get a QB in that could throw him the ball, he could showcase his talent. He has the potential to be the next Witten, Shockey, or Winslow Jr. However, it will take a coaching change or QB change to elevate him to a Legend.

It's a good thing Rogers has only had two catches. He never needs a pass thrown his way.

Yeah, Coach Fulmer...who spends 18 hours a day with the team, attends every practice and watches every minute of film...doesn't know anything about how well Brandon Warren does in pass protection but some Joe Schmo in Bristol who tunes in to the TV once a week and blogs on the internet does.

Seriously?

Pass protection is a major problem for the Vols this year. Clawson's scheme is complex because it rotates linemen on both sides of the O-line. Crompton's young and hasn't shown an ability to make reads under pressure.

Warren may be a better athlete than Stocker, he may be faster and he may have better hands but it doesn't matter if he can't protect the QB.

you're arguments might hold water if everyone on this board didn't realize that the offense is only running about 5% of the playbook.
