Tennessee's football program has been in existence since 1891. That's a span of 121 years that encompasses 1,205 football games. Never, not once, in more than a century and 1,000 football games, has an opposing offense gained more yards than the 721 that Troy put up on the Vols inside Neyland Stadium on Saturday. No team has scored more than 40 points inside of Neyland Stadium since Washington State put up 52 way back in 1988.

Nothing sums up the absolute atrocity that the Vols' defense has become like this statistical nugget; on Saturday Tennessee set a school record with 718 yards of total offense. But got outgained. Just wow

My only comment is why are Dooley and Sunseri still in Knoxville this morning? They both should have been run out of town immediately after that disgusting defensive performance!

Want to get super pissed?

In some ways, despite the fact that it had been 42 days since the Vols had dabbed ink into the win column, this game might have felt more condemning than redeeming.

Not so, according to Dooley.

"No. I feel pretty good. Better than you guys think," said Dooley, who finally recorded his 15th win as the Vols' skipper. "Think of the alternative right now. Whenever I don't feel good, I think what's the alternative?."

Because Hart wants to keep the media storm away for as long as possible. He's a huge procrastinator. "Oh Dooley, yeah well I'll get to that next week". :p

Maybe Hart needs to go as well. And Cheek. I'm pretty sick of the crap that has been going on over there and like many other donors, I'm just about done throwing my money at fiscally irresponsible decisions that have been made the past 5 years.

Jimmy Hyams just stated that Jimmy Cheek doesn't want to pay the buyout $$ to fire Dooley, so if UT wins the rest of their games, Coach Dooley would be retained.

Cheek should have been fired for allowing Hamilton to make another hire after all the dumbassery on his watch... This is the reason Tennessee is in a crap hole.. The leadership has been a joke up there for some time..

Remind me why Jimmy Cheek is still employed at Tennessee again?

He is supposed to keep the best interests of the University of Tennessee as his number one priority, which he would not be doing if Coach Dooley is retained. I have seen enough to say that we will never be more than a .500 team with him at the helm, at best.
