Reactions to the Lane Kiffin-Urban Meyer incident

Looks like you are just looking at opponent’s message boards. Ok, what did Rome say, what did Kornheiser say, what did Wilbon say, what did Reali say, etc.? What did people in the industry who do not have a dog in the fight say?

This was a private meeting that would not have been publicized except it was posted on the UT website. The University must not have had a problem with it. Why are you so obsessed?

not eaxctly unbiased, but here's one....from an interview with Dan Patrick

a LOT of people are predicting that.

I wish I knew you or 5150 or one of you other happy-to-be-miserable folks in real life, because I'd be trying to get one of you to bet me $500 that Kiffin won't last three years.

In six weeks, he put together a recruiting class that was better than Fulmer's last one. In spite of the fact that we're coming off a losing season. He's clearly going to get the horses. And even if you think that Kiffin himself can't coach a lick, he's surrounded himself with an all-star team of assistants that makes Fulmer's staff look like a Menudo reunion. I don't know whether they're going to be good enough to whip Meyer and Saban on a regular basis or not, but I guarantee you that once they get their players in place, we're not losing to South Carolina and UCLA and Wyoming and the rest of these bottom-feeders anymore.

When kiffin starts winning the SEC, the rest of the league will be eating a lot of crow.

Not sure if this has been shared yet....Fox Sports. Good read, and covers most angles of the recent events.

FOX Sports on MSN - COLLEGE FOOTBALL - What we learned from recruiting season

There are three things that don't last long. Dogs that chase cars, pro golfers who chip for pars and SEC coaches who don't/can't tweak, cajole, stretch and massage the recruiting rules to their outer limits. In the kill-and-be-killed world of the SEC, Kiffin had better get used to the ruthless life in the big-boy league and he'll have to get used to everyone trying to dance with his dates.

TigerForums has much the same reaction as others do.

Kiffin is a straight up punk.

I really hope he fails miserably so he'll shut the hell up.

watching kiffie get busted for ncaa violations is gonna be so much fun.

and it will happen, i have no doubt. it is just a matter of time. so is there gonna be any kind of official thread on when and how he gets busted? who is handling the bets?

Kiffin doesn't get it. This is the SEC. We have the best talent, the best facilities, the best coaches, the best fans and the most Crystal trophies.

This Jack-Nut hasn't coached a single frikkin ball game at UT, let alone win a conference game, and he's already shot his mouth off at nearly half the conference.

This isn't the Big East or the Big 10, where there are a few good teams. This is the SEC where we have 9 or 10 strong teams, 3 or 4 of which have a shot at a BCSNC.

Does he understand that almost every game will be a war?

I wonder if he's even looked at their game schedule for 2009.....

UT will struggle to win 6 or 7 games.

If we're lucky, we'll have some Independence Bowl jokes for Kiffin and Coach O.

Contract: If Kiffin is fired in 2009 or 2010, the school will have to pay him a buyout clause of $7.5 million; after the 2012 season, the buyout clause decreases to $5 million If Kiffin resigns his position, he will have to pay UT $1 million in 2009, with the sum decreasing by $200,000 each year of his contract.

Those moonshiners are so screwed with this guy!

Here's a link to all the video comments by the TV station who was at the breakfast. Pause the side video screen when viewing. Sound is jacked up too.

LSU fans talking trash to UT? :post-4-1090547912: Miles won the title only with Saban's players. He's a loose cannon and will be lucky to win 9 games this year!

One thing is for sure. Kiffin has definitely got all other SEC teams, players, coaches and fans panties in a wad and we haven't even played the first game. Imagine the love they will have if we start whipping their butts on the field as well.

Why do I care that a bunch of goobers from rival message boards are spewing their biased drivel...it's the same ole regurgitated shtick. I'm going to go watch my carpet and see if it changes colors.
