Does anyone know who is responsible for the Lady Vols basketball website since the elimination of utladyvols.com?

The reason I ask is because updates to the women's teams seem to come much more slowly that to the mens' teams. For example, the mens' basketball team has schedule with tv listings (and did have for about 2-3 weeks before the women). Also, the women's roster hasn't been updated at this point, although the mens has.

I know it has been stated that the SEC has been the holdup as related to the schedule, but that same excuse can't be used as to the roster!

Is this a result of the "merger" and are the women already being given a back seat, or is this just someone falling down on their job?

Easy, the season doesn't start for a while.

Maybe the men's team has a person that likes to work 16 hours a day and the women's team has a person that works 8 hours and goes home.

Or if it's the same person, maybe the men's team gets them the information faster than the women's team does.

from what I am told, each team has a different person that handles the website stuff. Or for smaller teams there might be one person that handles a couple different teams.

The Rowing pages are not updated yet either. The incoming freshman are there, and the novices that didnt come back have been taken off, but there is a lot of re-write to do to profiles, coaches are not completely updated, and no schedules. This might be because the schedule is not fully put together for the fall.

But they also have not had their first official practice either. Im trying to be patient as well.

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think I am not relaxed. If you are not interested I'm sure that is fine for you, but I am interested in the apparent disparities. And, so far, I haven't seen or found an answer.

Nobody is being given a back seat.

The men's roster was updated earlier because of their foreign tour. The team had new photos taken and bios written/updated for the small publication they had printed for the trip. Since that work was already done, they put it on the web.

Merging the sites has changed literally nothing about the way the work is done. The team pages are updated by the sport SID, and women's basketball is all that person does. Once the team starts fall workouts in earnest, you'll see more coverage and more things updated.

DeerPark, thanks for your reply and information. The only thing I was really trying to find out was whether there were any changes to job duties, and you have answered that question.

Unfortunately, that means that things are "business as usual", which in the case of the Lady Vol basketball team means that things are done at a much slower pace than for the other sports teams. It may be that the men's team had things posted somewhat earlier this year because of the Italy trip, but the fact of the matter is that the men's team has had updated rosters and schedules available every year since 1996 (as far back as I can remember) significantly before the women's team had the same information posted.

While the SEC does seem to have the men's information available before the women's every year, this doesn't explain the delay in updating the roster information. After all, not only do we know who the incoming freshmen are, but they are all presently on campus, and in the case of at least three of them have been here for more than a month.

I know some will think that I am making a mountain out of a molehill, but frankly I think that the lack of emphasis on updating the website information for the women's teams shows a lack of respect, not only to the players, but to the fans, that is simply unwarranted. JMO
