RB Debate

I would also say, what a healthy Hardesty looks like is leaps and bounds away from previous, he hits the hole hard and moves the pile, when he see's daylight, wow, what a diff. Would like to see Coker get his 10-15 touches, but not just in I-back, still think its good to move him around, seems more dangerous now catching the ball in space..........

I loved the way Foster and Hardesty ran the ball yesterday. AF showed some good vision and a little burst of speed. I would not want to be a DB and try to tackle Hardesty. He just likes to hit people

They all bring a little something to the table. When Foster is "on," agree he's the best. He has the best vision. However, Hardesty and Coker bring a little more straight on power. You can generally tell early on if Foster is going to be "on" or not. When he's not, they need to plug in Hardesty and Coker. Foster was in the zone yesterday and if he plays like that this wknd, I love our chances.

I was very impressed with Hardesty and his yards after contact yesterday.

Bump to point out another great week by Arian. The man is running with a purpose right now. He has excellent vision.

There's a reason the depth chart goes 1)Foster, 2)Hardesty, 3)Coker... even though LaMarcus is obviously the fastest, he isn't getting past the first level when he gets the ball.

I agree. Speed doesn't mean much unless you get past that first level. When LaMarcus turns on those jets watch out, hes gone.

You're absolutely crazy if you think Coker is our 3rd best back behind Hardesty. Same goes if you think it's that obvious that Foster is our best back. I guess you've forgotten how Coker made any sort of running game we had last year.

What has Coker done? He's got 10 touches for 80 yards and a touchdown. That's 8 yards per touch. Soooo....your point?

Anyone is going to run well with the way our offensive line is running. Boasting about Foster's 3 tds is like boasting about Jerome Bettis getting all of the TD's two years ago after Willie Parker ran them inside the 5.

Don't get me wrong, Foster has played well and he's a good runningback, but keep in mind the costly fumbles he's had that have single handily cost us a few games.
Yep....I like 'em all.....and to start a smack talk session on the backs of any one of our fine young men is wrong.

I seem to recall Fulmer saying something about Coker getting back in game shape recently. This past game he had a concussion which is why he didn't play more in the 2nd half. This kid is a wonderful athlete and in my opinion the roster is backwards. I would go 1. Coker 2. Hardesty 3. Foster. Given the same amount of touches, and knowing you are the starting back would do wonders for Coker. Again, this is just my opinion....it doesn't half to be yours.

Ooops. Sorry. Well, it doesn't change much. I'm glad they're all playing well. Really, if our line plays inspired smash mouth football like they have....you could put Rogers back there and he'd get some nice yardage. It's a good thing to have 3/4 backs that give you different advantages when they're in.

Look at Georgia Tech and Choice. Did anyone watch the game? Choice or however his name is spelled. Anyway he had a bad hammy. He had no speed once he got past the first level. But he was still able to gain 150 yards rushing. Not to say his o line shouldn't get the credit on that but either way the kid has vision and power. Speed doesn't do anything if you cant see the holes. Sorry but to me the best backs are Hardesty and Foster. We need to put Coker as a WR as stated previously. I mean I like Chris Brown and what he has done this season but to have some speed like Coker has out in the flat as the safety valve would be excellent to see.

COKER needs to be used as a percy Harvin type player..
he needs to run those mis direction runs when the RB bounces outside, and utilizes his speed.
and he'll be the WR that will put mis-matches against the LB's and safeties that will try and cover him.. and if a corner tries to cover him.. then Coker is a strong runner, and he can get by them because he's already got power from being a RB his whole life..

So yea, does anyone agree me on this..?? what we thought Gerald Jones was going to be, and since it looks as if Gerald is going to get a RS this year.. why dont we use Coker as Florida uses Harvin?
