Packer: Knocks still delivered by Thompson

"It's not pretty at all. I don't think there's as much talent there now," he said. "There have been too many transitions on offense, if you ask me. I think Randy Sanders got screwed when they ran him off. That man could coach football and they know it. Look at what he's done at Kentucky with those quarterbacks.

"But, if you want to know the truth, there are a number of coaches who were there when I was that aren't anymore, and losing them has hurt the program. There are guys like Coach Sanders, Rodney Garner and Kevin Ramsey who were great coaches and I think the program misses them."

Good to see a former Vol speak the truth, although I don't really agree with the Randy Sanders part.

I never felt that Randy Sanders should have been carrying the majority of the blame that many wanted to place on him. He was Fulmer's scapegoat and the fans that had kids that harrassed his at school terrible parents.

Those aren't fans. Those are idiots that bought a hat at WalMart, and see how the Vols did on the 6 o'clock news.

I didn't hear about his kids getting harassed. That is pathetic and beyond low.

Raynoch, dont you know that you cant come back to the games as a guest unless you drink from the Orange punch bowl that Phil is serving.

Raynoch is one of my all time favorites. He is the man. I liked Randy Sanders, I always thought he was to vanilla, maybe that was just Fulmer having the final say so. I hate that Sanders got the screw, hate to see that happen to anyone in the family.

Thanks Business!

Always love to hear about my internet land namesake, probably wasn't the best player on those great defenses but was definitely my favorite to watch lay a hit on people. He was fierce.

Was at a camp for my sons during Raynoch's time and I was talking to Eric Parker. I asked him who the hardest hitter was on the team. He thought for a second and said, " Al Wilson will put a big hit on you but Raynoch... Raynoch will run THROUGH you."
