I haven't had a chance to listen to this yet, but here's the link if anyone is interested.

“The buy-in factor was there,” Gaulden told SEC This Morning. “It was just the adversity and being able to cope with the amount of last-second losses that we had last year. We had some tight games against South Carolina that came down to the last play of the game. Florida, last play of the game. Kentucky, that game was decided with 40 seconds left. So we were right there to be bowl eligible. Obviously, the outcome is different if we’re bowl eligible. Still, I feel like Coach Jones placed his name on the program.”
Gaulden

"Despite the adversity and challenges Tennessee faced last year, @Gmoney_7era appreciates everything Former Head Coach, Butch Jones did to move the program forward. He broke it all down earlier on #SECThisMorning with @PeterBurnsESPN and @mspears96."

Mike Kieth with a great interview.

A lot of scouts say Rashaan is a day one starter!

Rashaan is somewhat correct. The buy-in was right on his end, and it showed nearly every game. He was pretty clearly our best player in most games last season. Unfortunately, the buy-in on the part of the whole team clearly wasn't there. Would be awesome to see Rashaan get drafted by the Titans as a Williamson County native.

Real leaders dont need buy in. They just get after it, cause thats all they know how to do it.

Bozo the Clown could be head coach, and ballers just get ir done. Yes, i just said Butch is like Bozo the Clown.

Would love Rashaan in New England as a mid round pick. Don't think he'd be great for all 32 teams, but he's the classic tweener DB we and other teams look for. Solid player.

And I think he's right by the way about Butch. Thrilled Butch is out, but he did at least stabilize the program with some big wins mixed in.

Agree. And based on how the team played, the buy-in dissipated with the start of the 2016 season. What was a disciplined, fundamentally sound team morphed into a mistake-prone, poor effort, penalty and turnover-ridden team beginning with the App State game.

And I’m with you....would love to see Rashaan in Titan blue.

To add..... after firing Lawson the team was weak, riddled with injuries. Didn’t have a clue. Oh and he is now an intern

damnit, why cant Mike Keith do both Titans and Vol games?

Logistically, he could.
A lot of announcers do this.
Gene Deckerhoff does both FSU and Tampa Bay Bucs.
But, getting rid of Kesling would only happen if Pruitt and Barnes wanted it.

I'll still say that the incredible, unbelievable amount of injuries in 16 and 17, and where they occurred strategically in the roster is the biggest culpret by far.. JMO

meh not really. the games we were underdogs we lost, and the games we were favored, we blew a few of those big ones along the way. i can agree he may of stabilized the program, but there werent really any big wins mixed in along the way :dunno:

Love Gaulden. My fav from that big recruiting class.

But, in the interest of accuracy, we were a Paul Bain blocked FG away from losing to GT. The mighty UMass Minutemen had 1st dn on our side of the field under 5 minutes, a TD away from winning!

It usually cuts both ways in the closer ones.

Then there's Vandy.

Kamara played behind jalen Hurd and that's the staple of the butchy era. Buy in or whatever the man was the worst personel coach I've ever witnessed in my life as well as the dumbest. Good luck to gaulden, I hope he balls out but butch jones is now Sabans coffee bringer and we are better off.

One can never have enough of Mike Keith yelling...
SaAaAaAaAcCk

Not so sure that’s true....I had my fill of it about 8 years ago. Mike is generally excellent pregame, postgame and most of the time in the booth. But his signature screams during big Titans plays....I could do without it to say the least.

True. Oftentimes people will say, “we were just a couple plays from 6-6”. Truth is, we were also a couple plays away from 2-10 last year and 7-6 in 2016.

lol - I guess I can agree with that.

A hallmark of a really badly-coached team.

Hell, Tennessee was a couple plays away from 10-2 in 2015, and a handful of plays away from an undefeated season. Seriously. We went 9-4 with the 4 losses being by a combined 17 points. Butch's teams were always less than the sum of their parts.
