Rare company at the top.

Tennessee is one of only two Division I schools ever to have earned a No. 1 ranking in football, men's and women's basketball, softball and baseball.

We posted that on VN a couple of weeks ago.

If they are top ranked... then (since 98) ... what other school has top ranked teams in

football
basketball
baseball
ladies basketball

Florida has the first three...

Softball, too. They were ranked #1 almost the entire season in 2007.

Well the university posted it today, first I had heard that only two universities in the whole country can make the claim.
Good stuff, I did not pick up texas as the other school.... I was thinking maybe usc (the real one not the chicken school), or ucla but too lazy to do the research.

Alabama and Auburn are big movers so far.
Alabama is #47 in RPI

In fact, here is the entire SEC

1. Tennessee
4. Georgia
7. Florida
17. Vanderbilt
24. Auburn
25. Missouri
29. Arkansas
31. LSU
47. Alabama
48. Mississippi
51. Texas A&M
72. Kentucky
60. South Carolina
91. Mississippi State

I'm starting to wonder HTF Ole Miss was ever ranked #1.

USC doesn't have a softball program. Not to mention their WBB hasn't been good since the 80s when they had Cheryl Miller and went back-to-back with NCs, including in 1984 when they beat UT in the finals.

UCLA has the most NCs in college softball but their WBB program hasn't been ranked #1 in a very long time although they've had times where they've been very good.

TN has always been a relevant program rather opposing fans want to admit it or not. LadyVols are a dynasty rising up along with BasketVols winning an SEC tourney, BaseVols are a #1 ranked team currently writing history, and anyone who thinks the FB program will be dead forever are morons. There’s something good going on in TN right now.

It’s almost like we hired a good athletic director or something…

Golf? Track? W Bowling?

Women's T&F won the indoor National Championship in 2005 and 2009. lol

The 2005 team had Tianna Madison, who would go on to be a three-time Olympic Gold medalist (one in London, two in Rio).

Men's T&F won the outdoor National Championship in 2001 and the indoor in 2002. Both those teams, of course, included Justin Gatlin, who has an Olympic Gold, two Silver and two Bronze.
