Ranking UT's WR's (Fulmer era to present)

(1) Price: Saved us with the kick return against O'Bama in 98.

(2) Mecham: Was a beast his RS Junior year. Destroyed U. Cal Bears in the season opener.

(3) Stallworth: Great overall receiver

(3) Kent: Manning made him what he was. Flamed out with the Titans in the NFL. Always will remember the first play of the 1995 O'Bama game.

(4) Nash: Manning made him what he was

(5) Wilson: Boy was he fast and very versatile. He was a q.b. in high school

(6) Moore: Caught the winning t.d. against UAB.

(7) Jones: Caught an impossible catch against Ky. for a t.d. to give us a win in a 100 overtime period game, as a freshman.

(8) Patterson: Was not a receiver. Not sure what his issue was, but he made gimic plays and special teams plays and that was it. Not really effective as a receiver.
He did play lights out against Ole Piss & Vandy that year.

(9) Hunter: Did not play up to his talent level. After injury in Florida game, he played soft the following season. Da' Rick had to carry the team as a receiver the years that Hunter was at U.T.

(10) Washington: What about the night game against LSU when he had over 300 yards receiving on less than 9 receptions with Casey as the q.b.??? I also remember that he manipulated Stallworth to go pro a season early, so that Washington could be the main receiver the following year and try to jump to a first round selection in the NFL. Ended up going in the second round to Cincinnati. Played well his first year as a pro, but then Chris Henry was drafted by the Bengals and Washington lost his position and was traded.

****** I like the grit of Da Rick Rogers. He never accepted NO as an answer. He was going to make every catch and every catch was a t.d. in his mind. He never gave up on a play....

We didn’t play Ole Miss the year that CP was here. Perhaps you’re thinking of Mississippi State?

Maybe not as flashy as those on the list, but Lucas Taylor was a very solid and reliable receiver during his time in Orange

Stanley Morgan held or still holds the record for a career all-purpose yards. Receptions, rushes, k.o. returns & punt returns. A. Foster may have broken that record or if Foster didn't break that record, he came very close to breaking it.

Ok, that’s great. He was a versatile RUNNING BACK who could return kicks and was good catching the ball. Only 48 career receptions, vs 353 career carries. That’s my only point, he wasn’t a wide receiver outside of his freshman year when he caught 22 passes. Great college player who made a phenomenal transition, and position change to WR, once he got to the NFL.

Washington had the best single game I've seen at UT. 11 catches for 256 yards against LSU.

I'm guessing that was the last time we beat Saban.
only time IIRC... and by the way to the OP James Banks would have been somewhere in the mix if he could have gotten his mind right. Never forget that Hail Mary TD @ the half in the swamp !

Also the most prolific passer in UT history. I think he threw two career passes for two touchdowns and about 45-50 yards per completion.

Who coached LSU when Rick Clausen sub for Ainge and we beat them in a come from behind win?

I’ve not read past this post, but an “All Time” list that doesn’t have Tim McGhee in the top half is wrong (and Joey C. made up a great duo in ‘85).

Also, Craig Faulkner was prob. one of the best across the middle we’ve ever had (I hate calling him a “possession” guy, as he had wheels and could run after the catch).

Back to the original ask;
You have to put Eric Parker, the guy was a stud.
I would have Eric on the list ahead of a couple of others

I had Tim on my list but accidentally deleted it when I was putting it in somewhat of a chronological order. BTW, it's McGee. Not McGhee.

The best ever probably played before the Fulmer era.

Buddy Cruze
Richmond Flowers
Lester McClain
Larry Seviers
Stanley Morgan
Anthony Hancock
Willie Gault
Mike Miller
Clyde Duncan
Alvin Harper
Carl Pickens
Anthony Morgan
Anthony Miller

to name a few

Wide Receiver U

Thank you. Gault and Hancock and Morgan pretty much made UT "wide receiver U," if I remember my childhood correctly.

Damn people can't read. Fulmera era.
It's right in the thread title.
Harper and Pickens played under Majors

Depends how "era" is defined. It doesn't say "Head Coach era" right there in the thread title. Phil's "era" at UT began in the late 1960s under Doug Dickey.

Thank you. Gault and Hancock pretty much made UT wide receiver U.

I wish one of the later QBs would have been on the roster humming the tater to Gault, Hancock, Miller, and Darryal Wilson. Imagine Heath, T-Rob, or Peyton under center with that speed at WR.
