What is the O/U on how many times people misspell Tuberville and Orgeron before the thread is over? I set it at 13.5, and we're at 2 so far.

Jakez I agree. The fact of the matter is the top 5 could very well be interchangable from year to year except for 1. As much as I hate to say it Spurrier is probabley the best head coach in the SEC. Mostly because of taking less talented players and turning them into world beaters. Meyer and most of the rest of us has the luxory of great players. Hell, I could have coached Florida to a winning record this year.

i hate meyer. but he had that team prepared and ready. he out coached the "best big game coach in the country", at least according to some.

granted his job was made easy by the overwhelming hype placed on OSU's shoulders. i'm sure it wasn't hard to get these guys to practice hard for a month prior to the game. but he did do it. he gets the credit for this...and there's quite a difference between a winning record and a championship....you want proof, ask us.

Not saying the gamecocks are but they are much much better with him than with Granny. What about Shane Matthews or Svelle Newton this year. Do you think any coach could consistantly place unheralded players into a system and still succeed.

My sentiments exactly. All due respect to Spurrier, but he hasn't accomplished anything at SC yet that Lou Holtz didn't do 5 years ago.

You are telling me that you dont take the Gamecocks a little more seriously now than you did when Holtz was there? I know that I do. Maybe its just because he beat the ever living crap out of us in the 90's (along with UT). Trust me I dont like the guy but he is a great coach that has definatley earned my respect.

it's definitely a spurrier thing and not a SC thing. and i'd feel a lot better about had he not beaten us at SC in 05. they will get better.
