After a couple of weeks sabatical from VN, I thought I would share a few observations as an attempt to pad my lagging post count:

1. New Orleans is still a great place to have a bachelor party. Last weekend was the first time I have visited since Katrina.

2. The Intercontinental Buckhead is now my favorite hotel in Atlanta.

3. Maryland's eastern shore is a lot like Gatlinburg on the Ocean.

4. There comes a time in every prospective groom's life when he will just be glad that the wedding planning is over. I have reached that point.

Yes, yes they have.

At this point, so long as I don't have to pretend to be interested in which white table cloth looks best or which flower is more summery or whether votives or candles would be better on a table at which I won't be sitting, I think I'm willing to make that trade.

I hope your engagement photo in the paper didn't show you in a ball cap.

I didn't appear in the photo--my fiancee let me off the hook and did it solo.

I never really thought about it til now but you are right on with that assessment.
