I'd say Pearl's hating on him more than any of us, judging by the slide in his PT.

What did he do this summer? I was expecting him to come back this season with a solid outside shot to compliment his driving and slashing abilities. He can't knock down a shot outside of 5 feet.

don't give him that much credit. He can't make a layup or a free throw either. He can't even drive down the court without tripping, losing the ball or charging.

come on, he hasn't fallen that far, but it's clear his confidence isn't where it needs to be.

He's too mentally soft. He was already off too a rough start and then Pearl inserted Howell into the lineup and Ramar hasn't responded and has just continued to slide. He's just trying to do too much right now. He needs to slow down and let the game come to him.

Seems like his confidence is just fine to me. He's more than willing to drive into the lane to get a shot off. (and then charge, miss, bounce it off his foot) I'd say his decision making is what's getting him. Driving to the basket and kicking it out when contested is where it's at.

Main PG role is to collapse the defense so he can kick out for open shots.

Solid outside shot????????? Pard, if you have ever played much basketball then you know......you might be able to improve your outside shot, but you really either have a shot or you don't. He doesn't and his game is dependent on drives to the basket...plain and simple. There have been a ton of great guards who haven't had a good outside shot. One thing HE has to do is become a solid FREE THROW SHOOTER. If he doesn't, he is never going to be a great contributor to the program

No way anyone can work and get better or add extra dimensions to their game. It's all given to you at birth? :eek:lol:

It was written somewhere that Pearl said Howell was playing more because a point guard was suppossed to look to pass first and score second. Ramar does the opposite.

He was a shooting guard in high school, but I thought he transitioned well to point last season. This year has been a mess though. He needs to get it straightened up quick.

I agree. I was really impressed with him last season. Let's hope he gets back on track quick.

Especially the end of the season, he really came on in conference play. Ramar is pressing, he needs to relax and make simple-positive plays that will raise his confidence.

needs his role on this team at this time defined... he looks like he does not know what is expected of him..Right now he needs to be in a support role...J Smith had the hiccups last night by firing up two threes with more than 18 Seconds on the Shot Clock..As a result, 10 point lead to 4

On this board before the season people were declaring him a first round draft pick after this season. I thought they were crazy; cause other than layups, he can't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle.

This is true. But my big gripe about him is that he gives himself no outlet when he drives blindly. It seems the best use for him at this point is to drive when the other team has someone in the mix with foul trouble.

IMO all his goofing around off the court is affecting his progress. I'm also not so sure how he responds to coaching.
