The new NCAA and SEC transfer rules make it very difficult to do, especially considering the unique problems that college baseball present.

About the only student athletes who could transfer with no large ill effects would be freshmen.

What I don't understand is how Mike Hamilton can see the attendance figures, the won-loss record, the 10th place and worse finishes. the fan reaction on newspaper, radio and internet and STILL think this was a good decision.

Apathy was the main reasons he dumped Buzz Petersen.

Baseball suffers from this affliction far more than that situation did!

I know Todd Raleigh is sitting on his fat ass in his office all smug that he gets to keep his job and is sure that in one more year he will have his guys in place and will make a run for #7 in the conference and he will be able to snow the AD just one more time.

The only good hire that Hamilton ever made was bringing Bruce Pearl to Tennessee.

TR was a stupid hire, not making sense from the beginning but MH who will not endear himself by compounding his mistake and leaving this joke of a coach in place, to even those who respect him. Still, he has not made as many bad hires as the dictatorial Doug Dickey. Even Dickey's best of hires, if one considers PF a good hire, turned sour in the end.

Wonder if those black curtains that used to hang in Thompson-Boling are available to put into Lindsey Nelson Stadium? It might keep the bird droppings off all those nice new seats, since Vol fans won't be shining them with their behinds.

Maybe not curtains, but maybe they can put up some kind of boards that have advertising on them. You know, to offset the loss of money just a little.

Aww, who am I kidding. Nobody would advertise anyway. No point in advertising if nobody is gonna see it.

hopefully Hamilton will be fired soon. Football and baseball programs suck and are not competitive. Anybody who believes this idiot should even be considered a decent AD has very low expectations.

The attitude that it is just baseball and doesn't bring in a lot of money is exactly why Hamilton is a bad AD. Who cares about the product on the field in any sport as long as the money is flowing in? Certainly not Mike... Keeping Raleigh is a bad decision even if there is improvement next year. It won't be Raleigh's fault if the team wins. Hamilton just isn't willing to cut the cord and admit he made a bad hire quite yet.

Well said! A radio show yesterday said if Hamilton had not hired TR then their is no way he is back. I think that puts it best. His ego will not let him do the right thing for the program!:thumbsup:

Pretty amusing. MH screwed up with TR, but he did run off the worn-out, tired, overweight, imposter, head football coach, admittedly belatedly, but you talk about a non-competitive football program and that is what the program has been for the last five years, at least, and some would argue longer than that. Who was responsible for that? Direct responsibility belongs to the film watcher. And low expectations? All the Fulmerites had completely lowered their expectations, many becoming upset because the "round man" was terminated. Had the "big one" not extorted (I know, contractual) six mil (loved the university and bled orange of course), TR would have been axed this year. The money would have been there with no sweat without the six mil exit fee.

Actually, I wouldn't be fine with paying either of them, both are worthless coaches, as far as ability goes. Just pointing out that TR's retention, I believe, is related to not wanting to spend anymore for buyouts, having the burden of six mil hanging over their head.

what's a joke is the guy who is AD.. As for Fulmer, yes, he became complacent and didn't get it done his last 3 or 4 years, but my money says that Phillip Fulmer will be remembered as the 2nd greatest coach in UT football history and Derek Dooley(another brilliant hire made by Hamilton) will be another .500 coach who keeps his job because Hamilton hired him. For the record I thought Phil needed to go- however, look at who we have leading the program now- I lawyer whose best known for being Vince Dooley's son and getting Saban his coffee in the morning.
