Speed means nothing without vision. So basically, he would just run into the back of our lineman faster than the others..

I would think he deserves some more carries. Neal showed some real promise last year coming in to spell Poole. His injury(ies?) during spring apparently have been a major setback, causing M. Lane to become the #2 back. What has been most troubling for me is why the coaches keep saying that he [Neal] needs more touches, and that has yet to happen.

However, the problem with our running game has just as much to do with our offensive line as it does with the poor stats of our running backs. Changing RB's won't be the answer until we get our run-blocking figured out...

Do you coach div 1 football? I know you are some kind of coach just asking.

Most of the people on this board played high school football, it's pretty popular if you grew up in Tennessee. Speed is incredibly important in football. UT always has athletes who play football and run track.

I have to agree with the poster that said all Neal will do is run into the o-line quicker than the others. They get pushed so far back into the backfield that it's pathetic! I think if we could throw a ball out into the flats for him, so he could use his speed, that would be cool. But then again lane does a real good job doing that as well
