"It's been a process, and he's made progress every week," offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian said Wednesday evening following Tennessee's practice. "Since week one, since our first day here, he's improved in a lot of ways: in his pass protection, in his ability to finish runs in a physical manner.

But Lane is better the coaches don't know what they're doing!

Said most of Volnation.

I never said it. :) I've always thought that Neal had loads of potential that just hadn't been realized. Seems like he's starting to do what he's capable of. Good stuff.

Always been a fan of Neal.

4.4 speed and lifts with the Oline. Physical freak, hope he can break 1,000 yds this year. He's well on his way.

Agreed. He looks like a different back from last year. He was definitely one of the more underated SEC Rbs coming into the season and i'm sure that motivated him a bit.

Both Neal and Coach Gillespie have done one helluva job this year. Gillespie may well be our most underrated coach.

I'm sure CBJ making comments during fall camp about not having a big time playmaker on offense and mad dogging him when he said it was some motivation too :eek:k:

I sure hope that these coaches are correct when they loosely use the word "process". Seems to be their favorite word.

I heard it from Ron McKeefery himself that Rajion Neal was pound for pound the strongest guy in the weight room. Looking forward to seeing him destroy the cocks this week!

I remember his weight room stats when he committed and they were sick for a hs senior! His squat was ridiculous back then, can't imagine what he's throwin around now!!

I think neal is a good running back but lane had been the more physical runner. Not Being physical and trying to take the run outside on every play was neal's flaws. Lane was the more physical back. And, lane took the 4 and 5 yard tough runs.

When neal puts it all together, he will be a force. He made some cash in the Ga. Game with the way he ran. He has speed, he can catch the ball out of the backfield, and he's a good blocker. If he becomes a more physical runner and he takes the tough yards without trying to bounce it outside. He will be a complete back.

With the way he has been playing I have to imagine he will find a spot somewhere on Sundays.

Love the improved play from our rb position. Neal is a big part of that but so is the rest of the offense...OL, QB, TE, WR.

As far as Neal or Lane goes...You dont have to pick sides. It is possible to cheer for both.

Wonder if Neal becomes a big NFL back like so many other Vols backs that were good but not great until they got into the league?
