Is there any radio programs I can listen to concerning the Vols that isn't an Apologist for UT and Phil Fulmer. I live in Southeast TN, and listen to 99.1 Sports Animal most of the time, but the guys refuse to blame the coaches and defend them more than anything. And you can forget Vol Calls, that's a complete joke. Anyway any radio stations, or Internet broadcast would be great. If possible post links. Thanks in advance.

In fairness to those radio programs you mentioned they rely heavily on the staff for information and access to players and need their cooperation....Tony Basilio is the only radio personality in Knox that I have ever heard openly criticize the coaching staff.....and I have no idea where he is now and that could be why.

I don't know about any specific radio programs, but the Sports Source on WATE on Sunday morning seemed to give a pretty honest look at what was going on this past weekend. I'll be tuning in again this week to see what those guys have to say. Plus Fred White is on the show and like myself and several others have mentioned he's not afraid to let his time playing for the Vols get in the way of speaking his honest opinion.

Yeah, Fred White was on a morning show on the sports animal, and he was refreshingly (and surprisingly) critical of the team's performance Sat. While he didn't name names, he did make it clear that the players were not using correct technique - particularly the DBs - and clearly implied that falls back on the coaches.

He also said on Sunday morning that we could put 13 guys on the field and McFadden will still run all over us if we don't improve.

don't know if you can pick it up but the sportsbar on AM560 out of Memphis (afternoons, around 4p-6p) isn't too bad. it's not exclusive vols, but the guys on there seem to be pretty open minded about it.

for example, on the way home from work today, i caught part of the second half of the show and dave woloshin(sp?) was quoting fulmer following the UF loss saying something like he didn't think there needed to be any changes... and woloshin said he heartily disagreed with that and, in a very matter of fact tone, said "phillip" really needed to seriously consider that position... and then proceeded to say pretty much what we've all been saying since saturday... he's trying to still play old school football in a conference where the style of play has changed and it's not working...

so.. don't know if that helps..
