Rabbit, quail, and other game

Somebody may correct me, but I believe wild game is not commercially available by law in the state of Tennessee.

Oh, I know "wild" game is illegal. I guess I threw in the this fall part but realized that there is a restaurant here in Knoxville that has rabbit on it's menu during the week. Not sure where they get it from, though. Also know there was a restaurant I went to in South Carolina that often served quail. I figured that if these restaurants can sell it, they must be getting it supplied to them by somebody. :dunno:

rabbit and quail can both be domestically raised, and thus won't be "wild game."

As for where you can get some, i don't know anyone that raises either any more.

can't you buy farm raised quail anymore in TN? We used to buy them to train the dogs but I don't remember from where (it was local though).

I don't know about up in TN but down here in hell , I mean Ga, I've seen them being sold at some flea markets/ farmers markets. It seems like I remember seeing them for sale when I was a kid at a farmers market around Cleveland, TN. I don't remember exactly where, that was 15 years or more ago. I don't know about any commercial places, unless you can maybe order them on line like you can steaks and buffalo meat. Now if you want frozen quail I know the Bi-Lo here in Chatsworth and Dalton sell them in the premium frozen meat section.
