John Quade, an American character actor who played in several Clint Eastwood movies, has died at age 71.
Quade died last Sunday in his sleep at his home in Rosamond, Calif., said his wife, Gwen.
The actor, whose career has spanned more than a quarter of a century, starred in numerous films and TV shows.
He guest-starred on a range of TV shows like Starsky and Hutch to Hill Street Blues.
Quade was often cast to play law enforcement officers for his southern accent and large build. And his appearance made Quade's evil characters believable.
He is best known for his role as motorcycle gang leader Cholla in the 1978 film Every Which Way But Loose and its sequel Any Which Way You Can with Clint Eastwood.
