The one thing that really stuck out to me was the respect factor.. Going in, it was a huge joke to everyone outside of the fans of UT and our team.. You could see it on the faces of the gators, their fans, the announcers and all of the media ... The look on Tebow's face said it all after he hit Berry at full speed, he got up and smiled/grinned at the Florida sideline (there was no respect there)..
It appeared the collision may have done something to Tebow.... It looked like (to me at least) he was a little gimpy on the right side when he got up to walked back to the huddle..That was when he grinned/smiled to the sidelines almost like he was trying to cover it up..I saw him even ask one of the trainers afterwards "I got him didn't I?" The trainer kind of gave a small smirk like he was telling Tebow what he wanted to hear and not what he really thought..
I think the respect started right there..I think Tebow, Myer, the team and fans knew right there that it wasn't going to be the cake walk they thought.. The classic part (of the collision) was when Berry got up and walked away like nothing happen..I think everyone that had been disrespecting us were like" What the ____, Superman tried to run over that guy and it didn't even phase him"..
You could see it on the faces of the fans as the game went on that they were really worried, a lot of the fans actually sat down after Tebow fumbled and shook their heads (again the respect was coming clearer and clearer into focus)...
The most telling part of the change was the fact that the UF players were getting extra shots and pushing after the plays were over at the begining of the game (almost like a bully and they thought our players couldn't do anything about because we were weak)..By the end of the game they quit getting the extra shots in and pushing after the play, they actually stuck a hand out to help our players up off the ground after plays..
Going in there was no way in H*ll a UT player could even been thought of as a possiblity for "Player of the game"..After the game there was a whole new respect and Mr. Berry was the player of the game...
Would I have liked to win? Of course I would have, but I wouldn't have cared if we would have lost a 100, as long as I got to see our players finally get the respect they have deserved all along.. I honestly don't think I have ever been prouder of UT team as I was last night.. It makes me proud to say "GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!"
