I was there, Club level section 342. I had two negative interactions that I dealt with. Granted I might have been drinking a little and didnt handle them as adultly as I should have but none the less. The first was on the way to our seats when we happened upon a young girl and her not so studly boyfriend walking the same direction we were as the our band was coming towards us. She started bouncing up and down, getting in our bands face yelling ***$ You Bitc%es. Litterally in their face. Some of the kids looked a little shocked. I asked her to stop and be respectful, when she didnt I stood between her and the band as they passed by. She then began to scream profanities at me and it kept going until I turned around and said "dont get your boyfriends ass kicked". She ran over to security and tried to get me kicked out. Apologies to the Vol fan they grabbed instead of me. They let him go when we said it wasnt him and we all moved on, never saw her again.
The second was in our seats. We were on the home side and had some cool WVU people around us. We were all being respectful of each other and let me preface this with I dont care to take some ribbing. Hell I would have been excited if the shoe was on the other foot but there was one guy and wife that ran their mouths, taunting a tennessee fan and wife behind them the entire time. I sat 2 rows up and to the left of them. It got so bad that the aisle attendants came down at one point and told them if it didnt stop he would be removed. He continued and once again the wife/GF got up and got the aisle attendant. They again told him to sit and stop taunting. On the score that put WVU at 33 he stood turned, got in the guys face and started chanting SEC SEC SEC.
In not my most finest moment I bolted from my seat, grabbed him by the throat and told him to sit the f*** down or I was going to beat his ass. He sat and started saying I didnt do anything wrong. I told him to shut the f*** up I didnt want to hear another word. The aisle attendants ran down and they were removed while everyone around us clapped and thanked me for taking him on. The WVU fans apologized for his behavior. Again, likely not my proudest moment but I couldnt take anymore of his unsportsmanlike behavior.
As we left at near the end of the 4th quarter I was greeted by a handshake by all the WVU fans around us. We complimented each other on a good game, although I know they were just being polite. You won, beat us good. But be a class act about it....
