First off I want to wish Tenn good luck the rest of the season and hope they win every game. It'd be nice to play you all more often in an atmosphere like that. You have a stud RB and a tough consistent qb. Obviously we caught you guys at a great time, but I think Tenn will be on the rise.

My first question is if you were at the game how were your interactions with WVU fans? I'm always interested to know how we treat other teams.

Also, do you think WV is any good or is Tenn just not that good yet? Or a mix of both?

Please explain and best of luck!

I’ll be honest, for you all this game didn’t tell you much about your team. Tennessee played horribly. That’s not to discredit WVU, but this is no test for them simply based on quality of opponent.

WV is good, probably not CFP level, but good.

We are really bad.

Enjoy your season... we will be back to Tennessee mode...wait till next year in a few weeks.

Our secondary was slow and didn't give much for you to go off of in the passing game. However, outside of Oklahoma, your schedule seems to set up nicely.
West Virginia should have a good season, but I'm afraid the game against us didn't tell you much for a bowl game against a talented opponent.

WV is going to be disappointed if they think they are a playoff level program. They simply are not going to be able to play with teams that can take away Sills. They are soft on D and can't run the ball. That away the one threat and you lose.

i went, and i think most were pretty good. lot's of eat s**t pitt being yelled before, during and after the game. and there's always those few fans that can't help but show off how dumb they are by verbalizing every criticism that comes in to their tiny heads.

but all in all, ver cordial for the most part. before the game tailgating, we had a good time with both fan bases in such close proxmity.

i think WVU is really good. the offense is no joke. i don't think though you'll face a defense that's going to be able to really challenge the WR's. you'll see better pass rushes, and Run D's, so i'll be interested to see how that might change things. i think your schedule is really down to 2 games...OU and whoever else proves to be 2nd behind them be it TCU, OSU etc.....

i don't know that you have quite enough depth to win significantly in the post season, and the smallish defense will eventually see an offense that can match it up. WVU is good though, and will give any team they play head aches.

I think a team like Florida or LSU with strong lines and speed in the secondary would handle you guys. I think your team is good not great. Our lines were just not where we thought they’d be.

Don't let the homer's on this board fool you. Grier and that WVU offense is the real deal. He proved yesterday with some of those throws why he is a candidate for the the Heisman. Tennessee is not a good football team by any means. People on this board watch 30 second practice videos of player's catching balls against air and "sports reporters" saying how good our guys look in their uniform and think we are going to go out and dominate other good teams. When the truth is, most if these people couldn't find their ass with both hands. So, yes WVU is a good football team.

yeah, they don't play anyone like that this season. the big 12 is very offense friendly. i would imagine once they get in to conf. play, over unders should be around 60+ each week.

Yeah, just trying to convey that they are good but can’t hang with the big boys.

Fan bases seemed similar to me. Mostly good people with a handful of idiots sprinkled in on both sides... kind of like this message board.

I saw a real good offense put it on an out-of-synch, young, defense. With an offensive coordinator who knew what he was doing we easily score 21. I see UWV losing 2 games mainly because of their defense especially in the pass happy Big 12. Your pass defense is about as bad as ours. I wasn't at the game but married a W.Va. lady and good luck with your season.

I was there, Club level section 342. I had two negative interactions that I dealt with. Granted I might have been drinking a little and didnt handle them as adultly as I should have but none the less. The first was on the way to our seats when we happened upon a young girl and her not so studly boyfriend walking the same direction we were as the our band was coming towards us. She started bouncing up and down, getting in our bands face yelling ***$ You Bitc%es. Litterally in their face. Some of the kids looked a little shocked. I asked her to stop and be respectful, when she didnt I stood between her and the band as they passed by. She then began to scream profanities at me and it kept going until I turned around and said "dont get your boyfriends ass kicked". She ran over to security and tried to get me kicked out. Apologies to the Vol fan they grabbed instead of me. They let him go when we said it wasnt him and we all moved on, never saw her again.
The second was in our seats. We were on the home side and had some cool WVU people around us. We were all being respectful of each other and let me preface this with I dont care to take some ribbing. Hell I would have been excited if the shoe was on the other foot but there was one guy and wife that ran their mouths, taunting a tennessee fan and wife behind them the entire time. I sat 2 rows up and to the left of them. It got so bad that the aisle attendants came down at one point and told them if it didnt stop he would be removed. He continued and once again the wife/GF got up and got the aisle attendant. They again told him to sit and stop taunting. On the score that put WVU at 33 he stood turned, got in the guys face and started chanting SEC SEC SEC.
In not my most finest moment I bolted from my seat, grabbed him by the throat and told him to sit the f*** down or I was going to beat his ass. He sat and started saying I didnt do anything wrong. I told him to shut the f*** up I didnt want to hear another word. The aisle attendants ran down and they were removed while everyone around us clapped and thanked me for taking him on. The WVU fans apologized for his behavior. Again, likely not my proudest moment but I couldnt take anymore of his unsportsmanlike behavior.
As we left at near the end of the 4th quarter I was greeted by a handshake by all the WVU fans around us. We complimented each other on a good game, although I know they were just being polite. You won, beat us good. But be a class act about it....

WV is very good especially the passing game which is explosive. Only concern is WV running game. Need to mix run and pass when WV goes against a more polished team. Their defense played well yesterday too.

No worries bro; I'd be happy for my wife and I to go to a game with you and yours. We need more men who are willing to beat the s..t out of people for their disrespectful, in your face attitude/behaviors. With some people, they only understand force - that's it. They don't understand reason, logic, respect etc. Force is it.

WVU fans good and passionate much like UT.

WVU has chance to be real good but I’m not sure we were a good gauge. To be playoff contenders, gonna have to shore up run defense against the likes of Oklahoma and TX, though TX may not be as good as we thought.

With the exception of LSU, it’s the ugliest fan base I’ve ever dealt with. Now let me clarify, the majority of WVU fans were decent, nice people. Which is the case with all fan bases (except LSU, they’re basically all trash). But there’s no doubt the amount of hostile, white trash, douche bags was exponentially higher than normal. And I’ve interacted with about 40+ fan bases.

And I’d like to add that I kinda get the feeling it would’ve been considerably worse if we’d have pulled an upset.
