Coaches are being fired everywhere. They are receiving $20-50M buyouts and schools don’t flinch. Some schools are on their 2nd buyout in 5 years or less. (Fl Aub)
At the same time schools are begging for NIL money or adding talent fees to tickets.
Fans are being played because schools know they have a loyal following. You’ll never know how much they take in, only it isn’t quite enough to get to the top. If you reach the top they’ll need more to stay there. A never ending cycle to keep fan’s expectations to get to the top. Expanded playoffs, more money. Your team almost makes it in, and just a little more money and you can get in and be a top 12 or 16 team. Make the playoffs and just a little more and you might win. Of course there is only 1 winner each year so there is always room for improvement, with just more money.
Enjoy your team, enjoy the games. The season is over so quickly.

This is a results based business. You ain’t gotta like it. It’s year 5. If this season plays out the way I imagine, we don’t beat a single team left standing in the top 25. Maybe Vandy? Possibly? You gonna thump your chest about beating a Vandy team full of 3 stars? Good for you, I guess?

Heupel has changes to make at the end of this year to show us he wants this program to progress further, instead of regressing. Some hard decisions. That’s why he makes 10 big ones a year. We will all get to see if he’s willing to make the changes. If not, you’re looking at your next butch.

He already got it. We spent a zillion dollars to keep a DC no one wanted that had one good year against mostly awful offenses. Just hired a new OC, and spent zillion more dollars and a QB that can’t play.
