Questions For The Wannabe AD's

I think you should learn to read. Ole boy isn’t advocating to fire coach.
I didn't say he was.
The jest of his post was let's pretend to be AD or "Alice in Wonderland".

Dumb question that is not happening. IOW, the only way that CJH leaves this year is if he leaves to go to another Coaching job and one could easily assume no buyout involved.

I don't think anybody on VOLNATION is qualified to be or capable of being AD.

Potentially 7 coaching vacancies at/near the end of the season. 4 coaches already fired - Arkansas, LSU, FL, Auburn --- 3 potential outs USCe, KY, and Tx (Sark looking at NFL). Internal moves in the SEC could result if one SEC coach moves to another SEC to another SEC School.

Firing (Hypothetically) CJH would result in How stupid can Tennessee be and we need to fire the AD. Laughing stock, The only way we fire CJH at this point CJH is if he does something stupid that causes sanctions or streaks the UT Campus.

A "wanna be" AD or a new AD would not fire CJH at this time.

So yes it is a "Alice In Wonderland" type thread.

In regards to reading the post, I applied something you did not, SIMPLE LOGIC!

Not saying we should not ever do this, but this season is not the season to do it. $$$$$$

I intentionally stay off this message board after a loss for several days. The idiocy displayed by a handful of our fans is too much to stomach. Idiots..........freaking idiots.
It would be silly of us to think our 10 mil a year coach shouldn’t struggle to call timeouts and manage the clock game in/game out. It would also put our idiocy on full display if we expected him to understand clock rules outside of 2 min……..

Some here are just fragile and think we’re morons for stating some glaring facts—Heupel has many areas to improve. Areas that shouldn’t be glaring by a coach at this level. The SEC is kind of the pinnacle for college coaching, wouldn’t you agree?

1) Suppose we fire Haupel who supposedly has a $37.5 million buyout.
We then would have to empty the bank to hire a "bettet coach".
Where's the NIL money coming from to buy future players and transfers?
2) With vacancies at UF, UCLA, Auburn ,Arkansas and Penn St what reputable coach would raplace a coach who had pulled UT out of a dumpster fire and won 30 games over the last 3 years?
The answer is no one unless they have an iron clad $50-$100 million buyout.
I don't see a lot of people calling for firing Heupel. I've seen way more people calling out those for wanting to fire Heupel than those who actually want to pull the plug on Heupel, which would be absurd at this point.

I do think Heupel needs to get some better coaches on his defensive staff, and needs to be more aggressive pulling talent out of the portal, especially on defense, but I don't think he needs to be fired.

So if you post 500+ whiney posts you apparently think that makes you smarter? Interesting!
Posts like yours is the very reason I rarely visit this site but thanks for reminding me
..
No you will be outed, ignored or passed. Whiney posters don't last very long except in the Political forum.

Ask Penn State. Ask LSU. Thinking that Heupel has peaked and is on the course to being replaced is not the same as wanting him fired now. I think it would be horribly disruptive, and I can’t see him getting fired unless he lost every remaining game including NM State. I think there’s a real chance we go 7-5 and if you don’t think the coming heat is justified, then you’re a doofus.

Here’s the catch. At 9-3, Heupel isn’t going to make the needed changes.

This is the difference between mature coaches and immature coaches.

Countless times, we have seen coaches lead to their own demise by "our record wasn't better because of this play or that play".... Butch did it.

Saban was at the top of the world yet he overhauled his offense. Heupel is going to have to make some tough decisions with guys he is genuinely likes. I know he has PTSD with being the scapegoat in Norman under Stoops, but if there are upgrades to be had, he has to pursue them. Perfect example is Sam Pittman. That guy is going to have any OL coaching job he wants in college football. Elarbee has been here since 2021, but Pittman would be a massive upgrade. It isn't a slight on Elarbee. It is a chance to get better.

You are 100% correct. We are stuck and have no choice but to hope for improvement. It really doesnt matter. Our next hire is almost certainly to be another mid level, up n comer, roll of the dice. its the UT way!

The AD needs to ask Josh one question - What do you need to win the conference? His future should depend on that answer.
He already got it. We spent a zillion dollars to keep a DC no one wanted that had one good year against mostly awful offenses. Just hired a new OC, and spent zillion more dollars and a QB that can’t play.
